Go on a Crock Country Veggie Shopping Adventure -- We Did and Loved It! -- Review and Giveaway

Can you imagine a place where you don’t have to hide veggies to get your kids to eat them, a place where carrots and broccoli fly off plates and into tummies? This place is called Crock Country. Shopping for vegetables can be overwhelming—they can come canned, fresh, and frozen, and in all shapes, colors and sizes. To help make your next shopping trip fun and educational for you and the family, Country Crock has come up with a great way to make veggies fun, with the help of their Veggie Shopping Kit.

We recently had the opportunity, thanks to Country Crock, to participate in this fun grocery store adventure. With Savannah steering the wagon as driver in the yellow car at the market, we set off with items that were included in our Veggie Shopping Kit.  Just look at what was included in this fun kit:

What a fun trip this was to the market.  We even had a few moms/kids stop and ask my husband and I what we were doing.  And, after I was done explaining this great adventure, they all thought it was a fun and wonderful way to introduce children to veggies, who otherwise wouldn't want to eat them.

Who knew with Country Crock you could create such a tasty and eye appealing dish.  We bought all the ingredients to make this easy, Spice Roasted Sweet Potatoes and Apples, on our Veggie Adventures trip to the market.  Savannah is a fan of apples, but had never tried sweet potatoes before.  So, not only was it a treat showing her what a sweet potato looked like, but after I was done making this dish (which made the house smell wonderful), I loved watching her each this dish, and ask for more.

Ingredients

1/4 cup Shedd's Spread Country Crock® Pumpkin Spice Spread 1/4 tsp. ground black pepper 3 medium Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and cut into 1-inch wedges 3 sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into 1-inch wedges

Directions

Preheat oven to 450°. Combine Shedd's Spread Country Crock® Pumpkin Spice Spread with pepper in small bowl; set aside.
Toss apples with 1 tablespoon Spread mixture in medium bowl; set aside.
Toss potatoes with remaining spread mixture on baking sheet; arrange in single layer. Bake 10 minutes. Stir in apple mixture and bake, stirring once halfway through, an additional 25 minutes or until potatoes and apples are tender. Gently toss before serving.

I cannot wait to see what other fun adventures Country Crock creates for families to participate in together.  If they are as fun as the Veggies Shopping Adventure, they will sure be a hit with families.  I can't wait to head back to the supermarket with Savannah and go on another Veggies Shopping Adventure with our reusable veggies shopping list and try out new veggies and recipes from Country Crock.
