Tell us a little bit about yourself.  How many children do you have?  What are their ages? Your hobbies? Etc.
At the age of nine Lee learned how to knit and has been knitting ever since. Lee has been designing and knitting toddler sweaters for the past 25 years. In 2006, Lee started her web site, Sweaters by Lee, and since then a portion of all sales have been donated to charity.

Briefly explain your business.  How did it come about?
I learned how to knit from my mother & I've been knitting for over 40 years. My passion for knitting is also raising money for the 3 charities that Sweaters by Lee supports:  Autism Speaks, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer & Long Island Cares Food Bank.

What is a typical work day like?
My son is grown so I can devote my free time to my craft. Since I am lucky enough to have a full time job, in 2011 I am donating 100% to these 3 great charities.

What have been some of your major successes?
To me success is watching my little clients eyes light up and wearing my sweaters.

What have been some of your major challenges?
Major challenge is getting the word out on a national level

On those impossible days, what motivates you to keep going?
Motivation is for the charities my sweaters support, the best part is when I write out those 3 checks at the end of each year

What is your balancing secret in managing a business and family?
My family & friends have always been a big part, from bouncing off style idea's to help with publicity

What is next for your business?
Next for the business, is that we get the sweaters on the a show like Nate Berkus or Rachael Ray.  Again more sweaters sold more money for Charity

Do you have any advice for other mom entrepreneurs that are starting out and struggling, or are on the fence about starting a business?
Advice  I heard a quote once (don;t know who quoted it)  "Behind every successful woman is her self"
I believe you should love what you do.
