Product Review: Sundial Brands LLC, Makers of SheaMoisture Products

I recently had the opportunity to try out SheaMoisture's organic baby collection with Savannah and have to say that I am in love with this brand.  I can't get over the lovely fragrance and how it leaves my daughter's skin so soft.  After a week of use, I have seen an improvement in how soft her skin is, and how she is not developing diaper rashes liked she used to with other creams and lotions we were using after bath time.  Included in the samples to try were a head-to-toe wash and shampoo, eczema therapy cream, head-to-toe ointment  and baby lotion.  When my daughter is teething, which seems like it has been going on for months now, we have to give her oatmeal baths and use expensive diaper creams or corn starch to get the rash under control.  After one day of applying the SheaMoisture organic raw shea chamomile and argan oil baby ointment, her diaper rash seemed to clear up overnight.  It was amazing.  Usually, I don't see results like this so fast with other products.

As for the eczema cream, Savannah doesn't suffer from this, so I ended up giving it to a friend whose daughter does.  She loved that is was an organic product and also commented on how nice the product smelled.  It didn't smell like medicine and leave a strong scent on her daughter's skin. After a few days of use, she saw a vast improvement in her daughter's eczema and her daughter didn't mind her applying this cream nightly.  My friend is going to be switching to this cream from now on.

Like I said in the beginning, I am just loving the body lotion.  I even used it on my dry heals and the next day they were smooth.  My only negative comment is that I noticed the head-to-toe shampoo, when it got in my daughter's eyes, made her eyes red and irritated.  I am not sure if it is tear-free, as I didn't find this on the label.  So, we have to be careful to only use this as body wash instead of a shampoo, so not to irritate to delicate eyes.  But, as you can see, overall, I had a very positive experience with the SheaMoisture products I was sent to sample, and will now be buying more baby lotion for my daughter, as well as include in baby shower gift bags from now now.  And, best of all, you can pick up this product line at your local Target and WalMart.  How convenient is that?

Mission of SheaMoisture:

SheaMoisture strives to make a positive impact beyond our skin. The company purchases ingredients directly from women cooperatives and indigenous farmers in Africa, paying above market prices to help improve the standard of living for those suppliers. They are working closely with local and international organizations, including ECOSERVE and AFRICARE, to protect the integrity of ingredients and improve production processes to ensure sustainable harvests. Partnering with organizations such as The Liberian Education Fund and Todee Mission, the company is working to build schools and provide access to education for impoverished girls in Africa, many of who are suppliers of Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter and other natural ingredients.

Disclosure:  I was sent samples from the SheaButter Baby Collection in order to write up an honest review.  The views above are mine and mine alone.
