My Review:

Does your child hate to read?  Why not make reading fun with Treasure Kai and the Lost Gold of Shark Island.  What makes this book so enjoyable is that your child will become part of the adventure as he/she tries to figure out the mystery through 8 plastic treasure chests embedded in the book.  Each chest contains toy clues that will help them solve the mystery.  How fun is that?  Why didn't they have these types of books available when I was a child.  All we had were choose your own adventure books.  Now, don't get me wrong, I enjoyed these book series, but it would have been so much fun to read this interactive book.  I am just happy that I have the book now to share with my daughter, Savannah.  It will definitely be a read again and again book, that will introduce her to the joys of reading.

As your child reads each adventure, he/she is prompted to choose another treasure chest.  Once the chest is chosen and open, they have to match the toy inside with the adventure in the book.  The goal of the book is to find and pick the treasure chest with the gold coins inside.  What a great concept and adventure.  Your child will feel like they are an explorer!

So, if you are looking for the perfect summer reading book for your child, or need to buy a birthday gift for an upcoming birthday party for one of your child's friends, why not consider buying Treasure Kai today.

About the Author:

Karen Robertson is an innovative children’s author who strives to find unique ways for kids to interact with reading and have fun learning.

Inspired by her sons and prompted by an idea that came to her in a dream, Karen invented a new way to turn reading into playing for kids 5-9 years old. Her first book, “Treasure Kai and the Lost Gold of Shark Island”, sends kids on a choose-your-adventure treasure hunt for gold using little toys as clues to finding a gold treasure.

Her vision is to turn the “Treasure Kai” brand into an amazing adventure in fun and learning with a series of book apps, videos and games. The book apps will take kids on fictional treasure hunt adventures through history, supported by factual “Fun Fact Videos” and fun adventure video games online.
Karen has a B.A. in English from Texas A&M University and had a successful career in marketing before becoming an author.

Originally from Texas, Karen lives in Sydney, Australia with her husband and two sons.
