My Review:
I was excited to participate in this book tour as a tour stop for My Foolish Heart. Having not read any of the other books in the Deep Haven series (this being the 4th), I didn't know what to expect. When I received the book, I couldn't wait to begin reading, after seeing the inviting cover. Having just finished up my children's book review for April and May, it was nice to return to reviewing and reading adult books. This book is classified as an inspiration/Christian book, but after reading it, I would stay this book would be of interest to anyone who likes fiction. Susan May Warren writes about two characters who are scarred emotionally and physically and how they deal with these issues. I loved how Susan brought the reader in from the start and made you relate in some way to the characters and their flaws and personal struggles. I found myself rooting for them from the start. Everyone has their own insecurities, but it was nice to see how Susan played out these characters in her book.
Overall, this was a quick and easy read. I would definitely recommend this book for a summer beach read, or for those who have enjoyed the other books in the Deep Haven series. I will be checking them out, as a result of reading and enjoying this book.
