In Levin's 12th 1-2-3 Draw title (series total: 23 titles; over 1.5 million sold), she uses her proven step-by-step drawing instruction to offer lessons that supplement math learning in a fun way. In Draw Plus Math: Enhance Math Learning Through Art Activities, the lessons are based on learning goals outlined by the Principles and Standards for School Mathematics, developed by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM).

By enhancing math learning through art activities with exercises and games, Levin turns the sometimes frightening and often challenging concepts of math into something fun and approachable. Robots, critters, odd creatures and more all play an active role in teaching beginning math concepts.

My Review:

As you can see, today I am sharing wonderful books that make great educational teaching tools in math.  Last month I shared a couple reviews from Freddie Levin that dealt with her 1-2-3 Draw Series.  I just love this books, and know your children will too.  What makes this book so great is how Freddie Levin makes learning math fun, through art activities. There are 20 math lessons in total, so you can break them down into groups, so that your child isn't overwhelmed.  And, best of all, they will not think they are learning, but having fun through games and drawing.  They will feel happy and proud when they solve a problem and realize that math can be fun -- it all depends on how you look at a problem and how you tackle it.

If your child struggles with math or math is not their strong subject in school, don't fret.  Pick up Draw Plus Math today and give it a try.  Who know?  Maybe your children will want to practice more once they realize how fun math really is!

Levin also loves to make puppets, tiny stages and fine giclee prints. Besides art, she is also interested in ballet, yoga, gardens, birds, and anything with frosting.

Disclosure:  I was sent a copy of this book from KSB Productions in order to write up an honest review.  The views above are mine and mine alone.
