groOrganic Garden Planner Review and Giveaway

Closed.

And, the winner is:

Congrats to:  Ruth J.

I can't wait until next weekend -- the CT Flower Show will be held in Hartford, CT.  My husband and I look forward to going each year, as it is a sign that winter is almost over, and soon the tulips and other perrenials will be blooming.  Right now, as I am typing this, I am still looking at a backyard full of snow -- which, looks like it will take weeks to melt.  But, in the coming days, we will be spoiled on the East Coast with 45-50 degree weather.  Some may think this is still cold, but to us New Englanders, it is like Indian Summer.  We'll take it.  While I will be basking in the warm weather, my home will have a handful of contractors inside, cleaning up and drying out water logged walls, and fixing damage done from ice dams and water leaks caused by storm after storm of heavy wet snow that accumulated on our roof, and had no where else to go, but inside.

So, yes, I will be enjoying not only the warmer weather, but the flowers and smells at the CT Flower Show.  Each year, I come away with visions of a new garden layout, as well as a few plants in hand, which I keep out of the elements, until it is time to plant in the early summer.

It was not until recently that I was made aware of groOrganic.com.  This website offers various services for gardeners, including an online garden planner.  I jumped at the opportunity to try out this service for 30 days, and I am so glad that I did.  Not only was it easy to use and navigate, but it helps you choose the appropriate plants based on your zone.  How great is this?  In the past, I have bought plants from catalogs, that didn't even last a month. This summer I will have my new garden layout in hand, ready to go to the local greenhouses to pick up the plants to bring my design to life.  I can't wait.

If you love gardening, or want to add a little more color to your landscape this year, check out groOrganic.com today.

  1. This is great! I have dabbled a bit in gardening but beyond bulbs and a few annuals, I am pretty clueless. I am definitely going to look at this as I am interested in getting a garden that is as maintenance free as possible!

  2. I didn't enter my favorite flower or plant to grow because beyond the basics, I need some serious help! I really do love daffodils, though. I think it's because of the scene in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (the original version) where he picks the flower of the daffodil and sips something from it as if it were a tea cup!

  3. I love growing tomatoes! They are relatively easy and always yield a pretty good crop so everyone can pick some.
