Now Available on DVD and Blu-ray -- WHAT IF, Starring Daniel Radcliffe (Review)

Disclosure:  I was sent a screener copy from the vendor in order to write up an honest review.  All views shared are mine and mine alone.

Are you a fan of Daniel Radcliffe's?  Why Harry Potter was a big thing, I really never got into these movies.  But, after seeing Daniel off Broadway in NY and then in a few other post Harry Potter movies, I became a fan.  He really is a great young actor and one to watch.  You will find this especially after watching his performance in the recent release of "WHAT IF," which arrived on DVD this past Tuesday.

Last night for date night my husband and I ended up watching this movie.  Unlike me, he only correlates Daniel Radcliffe to Harry Potter, so he wasn't expecting much from this movie.  But, he had to sit through it, as I had to recently sit through 90's martial arts movies with him -- ah, what you do for love! :-)

Here is more about this new release, including the official movie trailer, in case you weren't aware of it..

"Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Zoe Kazan (Ruby Sparks) and Adam Driver (“Girls”) star in CBS Films’ WHAT IF, coming to Blu-ray™, DVD and Digital HD on Nov. 25 from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. In this modern comedy about romance, friendship and everything in between, WHAT IF tells the story about Wallace (Radcliffe) and Chantry (Kazan), a pair of 20-somethings, trying to figure out what they mean to each other and what they might become.

Bonus features include the “Blurred Lines” vignette, in which the cast and filmmakers explore the film’s themes and talk about their experience shooting this modern love story.  Also included is the “Opposites Attract” vignette, letting fans hear from the cast and crew on the dynamics between Chantry and Wallace, as well as their hilarious friends.  Exclusively available on Blu-ray are deleted scenes and two additional vignettes: “A Modern Love Story” introduces viewers to the entire cast, and “Behind the Scenes of What If” features cast and filmmakers in an 18-minute in-depth discussion on the film’s production.

WHAT IF has a running time of ~ 97 minutes, & is rated PG-13 for sexual content, including references throughout, partial nudity & language."

Within the first 10 minutes of this movie playing, both my husband and I were laughing.  It is always refreshing to see new and upcoming actors and this new release is filled with them. All of the characters have great back stories and they work well opposite each other.  What really gets you laughing is the back and forth banter between them, which has you liking them and seeing yourself or similar relationships of yours in the lead characters.

While the movie is considered a romantic comedy it is not sappy or one you think would just be for chicks.  My husband ended up really enjoying the movie and has since opened up to watching other Daniel Radcliffe movies outside Harry Potter, as he likes his acting ability and his acting style.

If you are in the mood for a laugh out loud movie that will pull you in the from the start and keep you engaged until the very end, while also not making you have to think about twisting and turning plot lines, then you will love "WHAT IF".  Just get the tissues ready to wipe your eyes from laughing too much. :-)
