Synopsis:

"After their parents separate, two estranged sisters who haven't been on speaking terms reunite in hopes that having a family Christmas all together for the first time in years will bring their Mom and Dad close again. They plan to do this in their old family home... the only problem is someone else lives there now.
The DVD includes a limited edition Norman Rockwell print!" And, in addition to the DVD, you can also pick up the soundtrack to this movie, which features holiday songs performed by George Canyon.

My Thoughts:

Even though Christmas is supposed to be a joyous time of the year, some families dread getting together with family.  Either they had a falling out in the past, and no longer talk, or a marriage is crumbling and the last thing a couple wants to do is put on a facade, as not to ruin the holidays for others.  In "Coming Home Christmas," this heartwarming movie, has just the right amount of family friction that draws you in, and makes you root for each of the member, and hope that by the end of the movie they make peace and can enjoy being a family.

Not only does this film have an old Power Ranger in the film (Amy Jo Johnson), but it also included Carly McKillip and Britt Mckillip, two sisters that make up the British Columbia band, "One More Girl."  I only know this as my 10 year old niece saw the DVD on the counter the day, and got excited when she saw these multi-talented sisters, who play sisters who haven't spoken in years, in this heartwarming and soon to be favorite holiday film of many, including my family. :-)  When the sisters learn their parents of 27 years are about to split up, they come together and try to make the Christmas memorable, in hopes to save their parents marriage.

In addition to great acting by all, even though the story line seems to be a repeat of many holiday heart tugging films over the years, this new release is filled with some amazing songs, and picturesque scenes (including breathtaking waterfalls).  You can't help but root for the girls and their efforts in bringing their parents back together, and for them to forgive one another and be "sisters" once again.  Don't worry, I will not spoil the ending -- even though you probably know how it ends. :-)  I will definitely be watching this holiday movie again before Christmas, and will be adding to the list of movies my mom and I watch each holiday season, when we get together to trim the tree, wrap gifts, and just enjoy family time together.
