Just in Time for Valentine's Day: #Win a 4-DVD Prize Pack from Echo Bridge Home Entertainment (2 winners) #Giveaway

Do you find yourself not wanting to go out with the crazy cold weather?  I for one hate walking out the door only to feel the freezing cold wind on my face.  So, instead, we have been staying indoors where it is warm, playing games with the girls to pass the time, or even watching movies.  And, with Valentine's Day right around the corner, I am not expecting things to change as the meteorologists keep reporting on colder and colder days.  Ugh.  If you are finding yourself in the same boat as me, not wanting to go out, and turning to a good movie instead....then, do I have the giveaway for you.  :-)

Also featuring Henry Winkler (The Waterboy), Selma Blair (Cruel Intentions), Ashton Kutcher (No Strings Attached) and Rosario Dawson (Unstoppable) in a stellar cast—you'll want to join this irresistible couple as they face the future…with some wildly unexpected results."

Out of all the movies above, I have to say that my favorite is Down to You.  I can watch this movie over and over again, and love stumbling upon it on television on weekends.  Freddie Prince Jr. and Julia Stiles worked well together in this movie.  Even my  husband has sat a few times with me to watch this romantic comedy, and found it entertaining. :-)

What Would You Do If You Won Publishers Clearing House's $5,000 a Week Forever Sweepstakes #Sponsored

Disclosure:  Special thanks to Publishers Clearing House for sponsoring today's discussion.  I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting sponsored by Publishers Clearing House. I received a product sample and promotional item as a thank you for participating.

Growing up, I was first introduced to Publishers Clearing House and their Sweepstakes by my parents.  While my mom always said she entered as a bonus for ordering discounted magazine subscriptions, my father, on the other would enter religiously.  Every time a Publishers Clearing House envelope would arrive in the mail, he was the first to open it, and start affixing stamps/stickers to enter the contests. My father, like so many other people who enter Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes, hope that they receive a knock at the door, and are greeted by someone holding a bunch of balloons and an oversized check, congratulating them on winning the Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes.

While this has never happened to us, nor anyone we know, my parents, and now I, still enter the Publisher Clearing House Sweepstakes.  Who knows?  Maybe one year we will get lucky and get that knock at the door.  You never know! :-)

Let's pretend for a minute that you won the Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes?  Would you take the lump sum payout or have the money trickle in bi-weekly or monthly?  I continue to pose this question to my dad, just to see what he would do.  Prior to the grandchildren, he would always tell me he would like to buy a new car, take my mom on a European vacation, and then bank the money so that my mom who is the only one working can finally retire, so that they can enjoy their golden years together.  Now, with the grandkids, his answer has changed.  He wants to set up trust funds for each of them, so that they will have money for school, a car, or whatever else they need when they grow up.  Because he and my mom have already traveled abroad a few times with friends, he tells me he would use the the leftover money as a retirement fund to live off of with my mom.

What would I do if I won $$$$ from Publishers Clearing House?  I would pay off my house, or better yet, sell or rent our current house when the economy gets better, and then buy a house in the south, preferably around Savannah, GA or Charleston, SC.  We named our first daughter, Savannah, after falling in love with Savannah, GA, and hope to one day be able to move there and share our love for this beautiful place with the girls.  Like my father, I would also add to the girls' college funds, so that is one less thing we have to worry about down the line, and then I would treat myself to a new car.  Last week, we took my used car of less than 1 yr. into the shop to have fixed, only to find out it is unrepairable -- leaving us to look for a new used car. Ugg.  Not fun, especially when you have little ones, and have to wait until the grandparents can come watch them, so that you can go car hunting.  And, if there is any money left over, I would love to travel to Key West, FL or another tropical island and see blue water, as this is top on my bucket list.  Oh, and I almost forget, I would also stash money away so that my husband can hopefully retire early, and spend time with the girls, like always dreamed he could.

How about you?  What would you do if you the Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes?  Just imagine...it is really fun, as you can come up with some great ways to spend down the $$$ you win. :-)  Yes, it maybe wishful thinking, but you never know...maybe you will be the next lucky winner to receive a knock at the door, and be handed a bunch of balloons and an oversized check.  If this happens, your life will definitely change for the better! :-)

Big money this summer - $5,000.00 a Week 'Forever' will be awarded from Publishers Clearing House. Win and you'll get $5,000.00 a week for your life, then after that, someone you choose gets $5,000.00 a week for their life! Claim an entry now for free, and you can become a multi-millionaire prize winner from Giveaway No. 1830!

Stop dreaming about winning $$$$ from Publishers Clearing House, and enter their current sweepstakes for your chance to win $5,000 a Week Forever.  Yes, you read that right -- $5,000 a Week Forever.  My mind is spinning just thinking about what I would be able to do with this money.  It definitely would make our lives easier and less stressful financially.

So, what are you waiting for?  Head on over to http://bit.ly/179tj5p to enter the Publishers Clearing House "Win $5,000 a Week Forever" Sweepstakes today.  Then, start thinking about what you would do if you won.  Don't forget to think about who you would designate as your "Forever" prize inheritor would be.  We would leave the $$$ to the girls, no question about it.

Disclosure:  I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting sponsored by Publishers Clearing House. I received a product sample and promotional item as a thank you for participating.

What: Expect travel tips (like the ones below from Quickie Chick) to help you navigate a balanced summer:

1. Don't Forget Your Sneakers

Make a plan to work out on vacation by dedicating some of that valuable space in your luggage to your sneakers. Having them with you will be a great reminder to take a few minutes out of your day to go on a run. If you don't actually use them on your trip, you’ll be upset you used that precious space in your luggage for items you didn’t use (and guilty you didn’t work out!)

2. Pack Some Balance

Pack a Balance Bar® (like Balance Bar® Bare bars or the Double Chocolate Brownie bar) for every day of your trip, including the travel days. By planning ahead, you have a portion-controlled snack for the airport or the car, a few to stash in your bag when you are out exploring your vacation destination, and a couple for breakfast when you have an early start and don't have time to go to a restaurant.

3. Remember your Cs

Vitamin C doesn't just help support your immune system, it has also been shown to help fight cell-damaging free radicals. Make sure to pack a couple packets of vitamin C powder so that you have your on-the-go support plus a daily dose of antioxidants.

4. Workout at the Airport
(Trouble viewing the video above, or want to share it with family and friends?  You can access it here: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10151666213239324)

The surprising fact is that you start racking up calories burned even before you arrive to your destination, especially if you do “carry-on only.” Just the act of traveling (lugging your bags through a busy airport, getting lost in a foreign train station) can burn an average of 117 calories per hour. Want to burn some more calories? While killing time in the airport, try carry-on bag curls, terminal lunges, calf raises, or wall sits.

5. Do a Quickie Workout in the Hotel Room

If you don’t want to interrupt your vacation relaxation, before you get out of bed in the morning, do a quickie workout! Kick your legs, circle your arms, get your abs involved and burn some calories before you even start your day! If you brought your computer, download an ExerciseTV workout and do a full-on sweat session in your room.

6. City Tripping? Take Yourself on A Walking Tour!

Familiarize yourself with a new city by power walking or running through it. You will have the opportunity to notice the details, talk to the people, and feel its beat much better while pounding the pavement instead of through the window of a car. Make sure to bring along plenty of water and a Balance Bar® to keep hydrated and energy levels high!

7. Eat Simply, Local and Share

When you go to a local restaurant, talk to the chef to see what’s local and fresh. Ask for that item prepared in the simplest clean way to bring out the ingredients’ natural flavors. I love fresh, simply grilled fish, ceviche (raw fish and cucumber marinated in lime juice, spices), a fruit platter flavored with fresh lime or even cayenne pepper. I also LOVE guacamole, but instead of using fatty fried chips for dipping, try jicama, carrot sticks, celery, or radishes.

8. Brake for Health!

Weekend traffic to popular beach and outdoor spots can mean lots of idle time sitting in your car - and that means slowing metabolism and stiff muscles. Take a break every 45 minutes to an hour to get out of the car and stretch. A quick round of lunges, leg and arm stretches will get you quickly refreshed both physically and mentally. Of course, don’t derail your diet before you even arrive with high-calorie (and messy) car food. Pack a nutritious cooler with plenty of water, Balance Bars and some fresh fruit. You’ll feel much better upon arrival at your destination.

9. Drink Skinny

Cocktails can be the ultimate calorie sabotage while on vacation, so watch how many you are having and opt for lower calorie options that still pack a flavor punch. For example, ask for your margaritas “skinny”: tequila, fresh squeezed lime (lots of it), agave, and a little fresh juice or a seltzer float if you want.

10. Outdoor “Adventuring”

The average person is more likely to try new things (sample more exotic foods, and yes, experience different forms of exercise) when on vacation. While you can’t bring home the exotic foods you’ve tried, you can bring home the renewed enthusiasm for exercise. Get out of your box and challenge yourself with Stand Up Paddle, Rock Climbing, Paragliding, White Water Rafting, or Swimming with Sharks - the sheer fear-factor will burn a ton of calories too!

Official rules: To be eligible to win, participants must follow @BalanceBar and participate during the Twitter chat hour using the hashtag. This giveaway is open to U.S. residents age 18 or older. Winners will be selected at random from eligible participants.
