I was recently going through photos cleaning up my computer and stumbled upon old photos I forgot to put in albums. Some of the photos were of our first Day Out with Thomas (DOWT) at the Essex Steam Train in Essex, CT back in 2013, along with more from the next year's DOWT.
I couldn't believe how long ago these photos were taken, as it feels just like yesterday. But, then when I see my girls and how big they have gotten, I wish for days like back in 2013 and 2014, as they were enjoying so many firsts including seeing one of their favorite television characters up close, along with first train and amusement rides.
In addition to stumbling upon these photos, I also read a press release that said that this year marks the 24th year of this fun-filled event. Wow!, 24 years...I knew that Thomas was big back when I was young and babysitting the neighbor's kids, but I didn't find out about the Day Out with Thomas train events until I had kids of my own, and they started watching Thomas & Friends. We have gone to all Day out with Thomas events since 2014, with the exception of last year, as my oldest was hospitalized with pneumonia, so we had to give away our ticket.s But, friends we gave them to, are still raving about how much fun they had with their boys, and how they can't wait for this year's stop in Essex, CT.

My girls, even though they are getting old, still enjoy watching Thomas & Friends, especially since they added me girl trains over the years, and look forward to Day Out With Thomas train ride each year. And, seeing that we missed the event last year, they are even more excited this year to see what they missed! :-)
