We've Experienced Them and Have to Agree...BuddyPhones WAVE is Truly the Best Kids Wireless Headphones Ever Made! #buddyphones (Review)

Disclosure:  I was sent samples from the vendor in exchange for an honest review. All views shared are mine and mine alone.

"BuddyPhones PLAY are the safe, comfortable and durable Bluetooth headphones you have been waiting for. The incredible 14-hour battery life allows for up to 6 days of use without charging (2-3 hours/day). They feature an adjustable headband so that they can grow with your child and soft hypo-allergenic cushions make them super comfortable for years to come. Works with all Bluetooth enabled devices such as iPads, iPhones, Amazon Kindle, car DVD players & more."

How is your summer going so far?  Hopefully you have been able to spend quality time with your family, and get in a few day trips or memorable moments that everyone will remember for some time to come.  This is the first year we have taken time off from homeschooling, as for the past 5 years we have been schooling year round.  This allowed us to take the whole month of December off to enjoy the holidays, as you all know December is a crazy time of year, and what kid will sit for school work knowing that Santa is coming. :-)  But, I have to say, having this little summer break is much deserved and much needed, and it wasn't until we had a full week of vacation under our belt that I felt it.  Homeschooling is just like being a teacher in a public school, as I have to put together curriculum and lesson plans and teach my girls.  But, unlike teachers, I am with my girls 24/7, without a break.  So, having a little breather in the summer so far, not worrying about lesson plans and teaching, has really made this free time spent my with my family more enjoyable and less stressful.

We've had a few day trips and weekend getaways under our belt, and just last week we were away most of the week.  Our vacation up north was cut short due to car issues, but overall it was a great trip, and one that I know I will remember, as my girls tried so many new things including going down water slides by themselves, and swimming back and forth the length of the pool without any issues and on their own.  And, looking at photos I took of the girls on my phone, I am feeling a little sad, as I am seeing that they are growing up right before my eyes and starting to look more grown up.  In a few short weeks, my oldest will be turning 9.  She is already talking about college plans, followed by getting her own apartment and animals of her own.  While I tell her to slow it down and enjoy being young, I know that I was the same way, as are most of us when we are young...wishing we were old already.  But, then we find ourselves old and wish we could back to the good 'ole days with less worries and responsibilities.  Funny how that is, right?

During our recent trip up north, I made sure to pack busy bags for my girls, stock up on new DVDs for them to watch during the 4+ hr. drive each way, and lots of snacks and water.  I also added something new to the mix, which I knew the girls would love, and that my husband and I would, too --- Wireless, Volume-Safe Kids BuddyPhones WAVE Headphones.

---

I was sent two pairs of the BuddyPhones WAVES headphones for my girls to try out (thank you BuddyPhones as you made it so that they wouldn't fight over these super cute unicorn headphones by sending the each a pair).

Both of my girls love unicorns, so they were all smiles when they saw magical unicorn design on the headphones.

Now, this is the not the first set of headphones my girls have owned...but, it was the first wireless pair.  And, after using them all week in the car and in the vacation rental, my girls will not go back to the clunky wired headphones, which always seem to get tangled up, or don't have long enough cables for girls to plug into the DVD players in the car, and sit back comfortably in their booster seats.  My girls said they felt like "big kids" with the wireless headphones, and loved how comfortable they were.

Check out all the features of the BuddyPhones WAVE wireless headphones, which you can purchase through the BuddyPhones website at www.buddyphones.com, as well as at Amazon...

(Prices vary depending on color/style, but range from $49.99-$69.98)
There's even an option to buy wireless headphones with a hard case.

"With more added features, the BuddyPhones WAVE is truly the best kids headphones ever made. The WAVE is waterproof, wireless with over 20 hours of battery life and features four distinct SafeAudio listening modes.

Features:

  • 24 Hr Battery Life
  • 30ft Range
  • AudioShare Cable
  • SafeAudio 75/85/94 dB
  • Hypo-Allergenic Cushion
  • Foldable Design
  • Spill/Waterproof IP67
  • Custom Name Tags
What's Included:

  • BuddyPhones WAVE Headphones
  • Micro-usb charger cord
  • BuddyCable audio sharing cord
  • Soft Travel Bag
  • Custom Nametag Stickers
The BuddyPhones WAVE headphones come in a few design styles -- the unicorn ones my girls were sent, as well robot, monkey and bee.

I have to say, if I wasn't sent the unicorn samples, it would have been hard to decide on which style to go with as they are all fun and cool looking. :-)

One of the features that I really love about these wireless BuddyPhones is the way that they fold up for easy storage in the bag included with the headphones.

This makes it easy for my girls to store them in their backpacks without taking up a lot of space, or in the seat pocket in the car.  And, with no wires like you have with the wired headphones, I don't have to worry about untangling wires, or having the headphones break as the girls pulled the cord or damage it in some way.

Another great feature of these wireless headphones is how you can adjust the volume based on your child's age and listening needs.

With four modes to choose from, you and your child are sure to find the right sound/volume setting.  We used the travel mode in the car, and the girls were both able to hear their own DVD players without interference from their neighboring DVD player of their sister, or the  radio playing in the front seating area.  In the past, long distance travel was difficult and stressful, as the girls would always fight over what movie they would watch on the dual DVD players.  Then, we bought separate DVD players that played their own movies, and this only made the girls fight more, as one would wear headphones, and the other wouldn't, but they could still both hear each others movies playing.  Or, the phone forced to wear headphones would complain about the short cord, or that after awhile their ears would get sore from the headphone pieces.  I dreaded long car rides because of the backseat fighting and complaining, and was looking for a way to curb it, especially knowing we had a summer vacation planned.  But, thanks to the BuddyPhones WAVE wireless headphones, we all got to enjoy a quiet car ride, without kids fighting over the radio or need to cancel out each other's DVD sounds.  It was nice to enjoy the scenery and the 4 hr. drive up north listening to music my husband and I like, and the girls were content in the backseat switching between their DVD player and phones listening to their own music selections.

I asked my girls the other day what their favorite part of the trip was, and they both were quick to say it was the BuddyPhones.  Yes, the trip was fun and they did a lot of cool and new things, but having their own headphones that were wireless, waterproof and oh so comfy to wear, was the stand out for them.  They kept raving about their headphones to me, and then to their friends who asked about their trip.  If only I had known about BuddyPhones headphones sooner...the past long car ride trips could have been more bearable.  Well, at least we have them now, and I am already planning an end of summer getaway. And, instead of going crazy buying stuff to keep the girls busy in the car, I will just make sure they have their BuddyPhones handy, and we are good to go.  For Christmas this year, I also plan to buy my nieces and nephews, as well as some of our close friends' kids their own BuddyPhones WAVE wireless headphones.  It will be a gift that will be welcomed by both parents and the kids. :-)

Yes, they are even waterproof.  How cool is that?!

If you are planning an upcoming long car rides, or or reluctant to travel far with your kids due to the stress of backseat complaining, why not pick up BuddyPhones headphones for each of your children. Once you experience a car ride with BuddyPhones you will see why I am adding an extra summer getaway in (no I am not crazy), and why my girls (and I) love these headphones so much.  Too bad they weren't around when I was younger.  I would have loved to had put these cool and stylish headphones on and drained out the 50's and 60's music my parents would listen to, or hearing my brothers handheld video games non-stop for hours.  At least now my girls get to enjoy their backseat entertainment (movies, music, etc.) without bothering those around them.  And, I get to enjoy a nice, peaceful drive there and back.  It's a win-win for everyone.

So, what are you waiting for? Head on over to BuddyPhones and browse their selection of headphones. In addition to the wireless WAVE headphones I was sent for my girls to help me review and enjoy, BuddyPhones also offers wired headphones.

No matter, which headphones you go with, know that they are excellent quality and offer so many wonderful features that kids and adults will like. This is one investment you will be happy you made, and a product your kids will enjoy for years to come.

Fans of Iron Man and and Avengers Will Love the Cool Over-the-Ear Headphones and Speakers from eKids (Review)

Disclosure: I was sent a sample from the vendor in order to write up an honest review. All views shared are mine and mine alone.

My girls have been going through a stage where they like each other and will play with nicely together one minute, but then the next, they don't want to be sisters and stomp off to other ends of the room.  I hear from friends and family that I am not alone in watching this love/hate relationship, and that it will come and go throughout their life.  Heck, I have two brothers and totally understand it, but always thought my girls would be best friends and always get along.  Silly me! :-)

For the past week, we have been passing a nasty head cold back and forth and laid up.  As a result, the girls have had to share close quarters most of the day, either laying together on the couch or snuggling up next to me (one on each side).  There has been a lot of movie watching and playing with apps on the phones to keep the girls entertained.  But, just like the tiffs they have when they are healthy, the girls found themselves at times fighting other little things like the volume on the phone or television being too loud, or one watching more of their favorite show that the other was growing tired of watching.  So, to keep the peace, I had to give the girls their own phones and portable DVD players to use.   This solved the problem, until they grew bored of them. Ugh. :-)

As the days passed, the girls started to feel better and started to play together again.  And, for a short time, I was able to snap photos and watch them enjoy each others company the other night, as they listened to a play list of songs they put together earlier in the day TOGETHER.  It was so nice to watch them smile and giggle, and pass the over the ear headphones back and forth so they could each hear the music.

Here are some of the photos I took of the girls enjoying their favorite music and the new Iron Man over-the-ear headphones from eKids we were recently sent.

Precious, huh?  These are definitely photos I will be cherishing and sharing with the girls when they "don't like each other," just to prove otherwise. :-)  As for the Iron Man headphones you see in the photos, these are new from eKids and worth checking out if you have an Avengers fan in your house.

Thanks to my husband, my girls love Iron Man, and were so excited when they saw these headphones arrive in the mail.  And, we only had one pair, so they had to share, if they wanted to try out.

Become your own legendary hero wearing these super-cool headphones. Connect any music device and power up your favorite playlist anywhere, anytime!

Unlike other over the ear headphones we have purchased, these actually fit perfectly and stay in place, even on our girls' tiny heads.  They were dancing and be bopping around while wearing these cool and oh-so stylish over-the-ear Iron Man headphones, and they were staying in place.  We can't stay this about other headphones we own.

In addition to the Avengers over-the-ear headphones, eKids is also offering the following speakers and over-the-ear headphones, all under $30.00...

My husband keeps asking for the Iron Man character rechargeable speaker for his office, with his own pair of over-the-ear headphones, as the girls don't want to share. Go figure!

M66
Rechargeable Character Speaker Features:
  • Mini speaker for any audio source
  • Cool character styling
  • Size defying sound
  • Built-in rechargeable battery
  • Supplied cable for charging speakers and connecting to audio source
  • Connect multiple speakers via the line-in jack
  • Power and charging LED indicator

I did have a chance to sneak a listen with these headphones and was amazed at the crystal clear sound and the volume was just right for the girl's listening pleasure. :-)  With so many birthdays this summer I have been wracking my brain trying to figure out what gifts to get everyone, from the girls' friends to our family and friends.  But, after trying out these cool over-the-ear headphones from eKids firsthand, I now know what to get everyone -- their own headphones or rechargeable speakers with their favorite character, including SpongeBob SquarePants, Mickey Mouse, Tinkerbell, Minnie Mouse, Kermit the Frog and so many more.

Holiday Gift Ideas -- Protect Young Ears with Hello Kitty and MLP Earbuds from Sakar (Review)

Disclosure:  I was sent samples from the vendor in order to write up an honest review.  All views shared are mine and mine alone.

It is hard to find a child who doesn't own their own iPod, cell phone or tablet. We live in a day and age where it is normal for kids of all ages to retreat to their rooms or corner of a room to listen to their favorite music and play with apps (both entertaining and educational), as a way to pass the time. But, what happens when you find yourself asking the kids over and over again to turn down the music so others in the room can concentrate on what they are doing or you simply don't want to hear a song or game's sound effects over and again?  This is where earbuds and headphones come in. :-)

I remember back in the day when I was a kid and would travel on long car rides with my brothers, that we would have those clunky headphones made of metal and flimsy foam covered plastic earbuds.  Boy where they uncomfortable to wear...and they were lousy in draining out the sound, for those around you.  Just like with technology, we have come a long way in regards to headphones and earbuds.  Nowadays you can find headphones and earbuds with your favorite character on them, or even a pair of crystal or vibrant gem blinged out earbuds to use.

Sakar Hello Kitty HK Bling Metal Earbuds With Mic

There are even volume limiting earbuds for the younger crowd, that makes listening to music safer on their little ears.  Sakar has become my go-to for headphones, earbuds and  portable speakers for my kids, and I am loving their character inspired earbuds that would be perfect for kids ages 3+ this holiday season.

Recently, I was sent samples of Sakar's Hello Kitty and My Little Pony (featuring Pinky Pie) earbuds for review.

Both of these earbuds offer high quality sound and are compatible with all iPods, iPhones, iPads, MP3/Mp4 players, portable audio/video devices and video gaming systems.  In addition to the hi-definition noise isolation ear buds, you also get a 1 yr. warranty and 2 extra ear-tips with each package.

My girls are huge fans of MLP and Hello Kitty, as are my two tween nieces.  So, they were all over the moon when I showed them these earbuds and asked them to help me review them.  I ended up having to pick up extra sets for each of them, as they didn't want to hand them off to one another. :-)

I also was able to try out these earbuds with my laptop and tablets and loved the high quality sounds of the earbuds, which will not break the bank as they average about $10.00 at local retailers (Target, Walmart, etc.) and through online retailers like Amazon and Toys R Us.

Unlike earbuds of yesteryear, these ones are actually really comfortable and will not have you pulling them out and rubbing your ears.  I also love how small they are, and that you can either throw them in your purse or carry in your pocket.  They also stay put while exercising, as I can attest to this. :-)

These earbuds from Sakar are mind with little ears in mind, and are a great way for kids to be able to enjoy their music and games, while not having the rest of house have to listen to it, too.  If you are planning to surprise your child with an new iPod, Mp3 player, gaming system, etc., why not pick up a pair of earbuds from Sakar to throw into their stockings.  Everyone's ears will thank you for them! In addition to the Hello Kitty and My Little Pony earbuds, Sakar also offers these other fun kid-friendly earbuds and kid-safe headphones that kids of all ages will enjoy wearing...

Just in Time for Spring/Summer Travel -- Kidz Gear, Volume Limit Headphones for Kids -- Review and #Giveaway

Disclosure: I was sent a sample from the vendor in order to write up an honest review.  The views I share are mine and mine alone.

One of the best investments we have made for long car rides is a DVD for the backseat.  When we are not listening to kid-friendly music in the car, I let the girls take turns choosing a movie to watch when we are driving long distances.  Not only does it keep them entertained, but it also cuts down on the "Are we there yet?" questions. :-)  But, I have found that Arabella doesn't last the entire movie, and ends up falling asleep.  When this happens, I have to turn down the volume of the DVD, to keep from waking her.  But, then Savannah, always chimes in "Turn up, please."  It is like clockwork, every time she sees me reaching for the remote.  Even though I know she can still hear the movie, she prefers to have it the volume it started at. Go figure!  So, I have been looking for kid-friendly headphones that I could place on her, so that she can still enjoy her movies, at the movie she likes, without worrying about her turning up the volume too high, or breaking the headset trying to put on and take off.

My search led me to the Kidz Gear website, where I found out that they offer volume limit headphones in a variety of fun colors for kids.  Upon reaching out to them, they sent along a pair of their pink Kidz Gear headphones, as well as a black carry bag and Stereo Headphone Splitter cable for me to review.

I was not sure what Savannah would do when I put the headphones as, as she never worn a pair.  Not wanting to scare her with the sound, I let her wear them for a little bit.  Then, I told her I had a surprise for her, and said to listen as I plugged the headphones into the television.  I watched as she smiled and got excited.  She had no idea how the sound was traveling from the television through the cables and into her ears.  "Wow" she said, as she stood there.  When I tried to take the Kidz Gear headphones off, she fought me to keep them on, as she liked not only how comfortable they were, but how she was able to control the sound herself.  So, I let her wear them a little bit longer, as she finished watching one of her favorite shows.

Once the headphones came off, I showed her they were able to fold up flat for easy transport, and could be stored in the black carry bag.  Savannah loved helping me fold up the headphones, and I didn't have to worry about them breaking, as they are more durable than most headphones for kids out there.  And, for the better part of the afternoon, Savannah walked around the house with her headphones in the black bag.  I had told her that the next time we went on a car ride to do errands, she could use her new Kidz Gear headphones to watch her movies on the DVD player, she couldn't wait.  So, she waiting and waiting.  We ended up having my husband take her out that night around the neighborhood, just so she could try out her headphones. :-)

I am so glad that I stumbled across the Kidz Gear website, and was able to try out their volume limit headphones made especially for kids ages 2-12 years of age, and will be picking up another pair for Arabella to have for the car. :-)  Are you planning any summer car travel, and will be letting your children watch DVD movies, play with the iPod, iPad, etc.?  You will want to make sure you have headphones ready for them to use, to keep the peace with their siblings and keep you sane. :-)  And, at only $19.99 a pair, you can't go wrong!
