Expecting or Need Baby Shower Gift Ideas? Check out the Cute New Precious Moments Overflowing With Love Collection (Review)

Disclosure:  I was sent samples from the vendor in exchange for an honest review. All views shared are mine and mine alone.

Last week I was sent a few pieces from the Precious Moments Overflowing with Love collection, which is now available for purchase at over BedBathandBeyond.com.  Included in the box were these adorable products, which would make the perfect gift to give someone you know who is expecting, or to add to your new baby's nursery, as you eagerly await your bundle of joy's arrival, or celebrate their recent birth....

---

"Whether it’s a welcome home or a first birthday gift, the sweet animals on this collection will warm the heart of mom and baby alike.  The Precious Moments Overflowing with Love collection is the perfect, classic addition to your modern nursery, adding a pop of color and fun to every little one’s room."

"Add a sweet touch to your nursery decor with the Noah's Ark Picture Frame from Precious Moments. Featuring Noah's menagerie on the bottom corner, this ceramic frame surrounds your photo with a precious message on the front."

---

"Add a touch of faithful style to your home with this Precious Moments Noah's Ark Waterball. Features Noah and his ark filled with all of God’s creatures beneath a musical snow globe that plays the tune “Jesus Loves Me".

----

"Help your little one feel content and comfy as they lay to sleep with the Precious Moments Noah's Ark Nightlight. Featuring an adorable hand-painted design on porcelain, this sweet accent utilizes LED lighting for a long-lasting glow."

-----

Aren't these just the cutest?  You really have to see them up close to enjoy their true beauty.  They are so precious, and make you smile instantly just looking at them. :-)

I wish I could tell you my girls smiled the first time they saw them, but they were a little confused and upset.  They saw me pulling the Overflowing With Love Nightlight, Overflowing With Love Waterball, and Overflowing With Love Ceramic Frame out of their boxes to take a closer look, and wondered if I was keeping a secret from them. They knew these were gifts for a new baby, and wondered if it was for a new member of our family.

I just had to share and the photo below I took of my oldest holding the ceramic frame.  You can see the "Oh no, what is going on?" look, followed by the eyes like "What aren't you telling me, Mom?"  :-)

Their daddy jokes all the time about getting a new baby, and that would mean they would have to share a room, less toys, and helping with diaper duty...and whenever he talks about it, you can see it bothers the girls.  They are content with being the two girls in the house and don't want to make room for another.  While it would be nice to have another baby, I am all set with the up all nights, diaper changes, potty training, etc.  The girls are now at the age that they are can do things on their own, and are also learning at the same pace, which helps with our homeschooling.  But, I will not lie...looking at these baby products from the Precious Moments Overflowing With Love collection, made me wonder what if would be like if we had another baby.  But, I happy with our little family, and wouldn't change it for the world. :-)

After reassuring my girls that they were not going to have to welcome a new baby into the house, they quickly changed their reaction and were all smiles, looking at the waterball, nightlight and ceramic frame.

They asked what I was planning on doing with them, and if they could keep them.  I had a Noah's Ark theme for them when they were little and still have some of their nursery stuff on display in their playroom.

Savannah wanted me to capture photos showing the Overflowing With Love Nightlight in the light, and when it was lit up in the dark....

My oldest daughter wanted the nighlight, while my youngest wanted the musical waterball.  She likes the “Jesus Loves Me" tune that this musical waterball plays, and said she would be extra careful with it, as not to drop and break it.

I was thinking to gift these Overflowing with Love products to a dear friend who was welcoming her first baby and wasn't sure of a baby theme, but after seeing the girls get excited about the products, I decided to let them keep them, so that they and I could enjoy them. :-)  I will be buying these pieces, though, to gift to my friend, as they really are cute, and would make a great baby shower gift.

If you are expecting or have to buy for an upcoming baby shower, why not consider shopping the Precious Moments Overflowing With Love collection, available now at BedBathandBeyond.com?  I have been a fan of Precious Moments for forever and really love these new collections.  They really are adorable, and a gift that will be treasured for years to come.  To learn more about these and other new additions to the Precious Moments line, head on over to https://www.preciousmoments.com/ today.

Introducing the Brand New Board Book Series for Babies by DK Publishing -- Sophie la girafe -- Review and #Giveaway

Disclosure:  I was sent samples from the publisher in order to write up an honest review.  The views shared are mine and mine alone.

"An ideal gift for new parents - Babies will love exploring and discovering different textures—from bumpy, scaly, sticky, and shiny—as  Sophie la girafe interacts with them on the page, making this a perfect way for encouraging tiny fingers to explore and young minds to develop."

If you have babies or teething toddlers, then you have probably seen or even purchased the Sophie la girafe toy/teether.  I was given one as a baby shower gift for Savannah, and ended up buying another one when we found out we were expecting Arabella.  And, whenever I get invited to a baby shower, this is one must have item I pick up and include with my gift, as I personally know how great Sophie la girafe is.  I know I am not alone in thinking this, as most of my family and friends with young children own one to. :-)

So, when I was recently contacted and told about a fun new board book series, featuring Sophie la Girafe, I couldn't resist this review opportunity.  You all know how important reading to your child, including babies is.  And, this fun new series, is definitely one worth checking out and picking up.  Arabella is almost 2 years old, while Savannah just turned 3 yrs. old in July, and both can't get enough of each of the four books in the Sofie la girafe series from DK Publishing.

Here is more about each of the books, which are great to share with babies and toddlers, that will help introduce them to different textures, numbers, colors and more.

Sophie la girafe: Peekaboo Sophie!

Sophie la girafe: Colors

"Packed with bright, lively pictures, and large, simple text, all the colors of the rainbow come alive in this board book, Baby: Sophie la girafe: Colors.

An ideal gift for new parents, this book will stimulate children's recognition of objects, as well as encourage talking and naming skills."

Like I said, my daughters love these books, and can't put them down.  I love watching Savannah try to read each of the books to Bella.  Even though she can't read, she uses her imagination to come up with a fun story.  She even tries to teach her little sister colors, numbers and even shows here where to touch the textures areas on each page, as she tells her what she is feeling.  Savannah is such a great Mommy's helper and big sister.  These books have helped her learn how to count beyond 10.  Now, she can count to 20, 50 and is working on counting to 100 thanks to the Sophie la girafe®: Let’s Get Counting.  You should see how proud she gets when she shows off her counting skills to my husband or I, as well as other family and friends. :-)

These new Sofie la girafe board books from DK Publishing would make for a great baby shower gift.  Even though I don't know anyone else having a baby soon, I know that when I get my next baby shower invite I will be creating a Sophie la girafe themed basket, including each of these books, as well as the popular Sophie la girafe toy. :-)  These books would even make great stocking stuffer gifts for the upcoming holiday season for babies and toddlers, too!

Valentine's Day Gift Ideas -- Personalized Books for Children from Trueberry Books (Review)

Trueberry Books

I have always been a fan of personalized books, as they make great keepsakes.  But, I have never seen anything like the storybooks that Trueberry Books offers.  What sets these books apart from others that offer personalized children's books is just how personal they get.  Besides just adding a child's name to the story, Trueberry Books asks you questions to make the story more personal.  And, in addition to telling a story and including your family's personal story and information, you also get to include photos on each page of the story.  This is the best part of the book, as it gives the personalized story a scrapbook like feel.

Trueberry Books offers three standard stories to choose from.

Once you decide on the story, the fun part begins.  You provide the name of the person who the story is about, your name as the author, and then answer a few fun questions like where you and your spouse met, when you got married, when your child was born, their favorite foods and toys, etc.  If you don't have all the photos you want to include in the story you choose, I would suggest you create an account at Trueberry Books and save your project.  Then, go back in and add the photos when you have them all in order.  Out of the whole ordering process, deciding on which photos to use and adding them (if you don't have them in a handy location on your computer) to the books takes the longest amount of time.  For me, it took about 25 minutes, as I had to find all the photos, which were in different folders on my computer.  Even though it took awhile to prepare the book the way I wanted it, I have to say that it was well worth it once I received the final product in the mail a short time later.

I surprised my daughters with the book at bedtime and their eyes lit up when they saw their photos in the book.  Savannah had to do a double take at first, as she wasn't used to seeing herself in a storybook I read to them.  Usually story time consists of 2-3 books and lasts about a half hour, on this night, we kept reading this book over and over again, while Savannah would point out the pictures and tell us who was in them. She loved this, as did Arabella, who was the focal point of the book.  I included a photo of Arabella eating a cupcake for her 1st birthday near the end of the book, and this photo when the girls saw the photo for the first time, they both got a good giggle out of it.  We had such a blast reading this fairy tale story about how my husband and I met and got married, had Arabella and welcomed her home where her older sister Savannah was waiting for her.  The standard story, which features Twinkleberry and your child is cute and easy to read and understand.  But, with the added personal touches of your family's information and photos really makes this a special and unique gift that will definitely be treasured for years to come.

We have only had this book for a few weeks now, but I can't tell you how many times the girls have requested that I read it to them.  And, when I am not reading it to them, I find them sitting together on the couch flipping through the pages and looking at the photos of themselves, as they smile and giggle.  I can't wait to create another book for Savannah, and surprise her with it for her 3rd birthday in July.  And, when friends ask me about the perfect gift to give a new mom or child, without hesitation I always suggest a personalized book from Trueberry Books.  Once you see these books up close, you will see why our family, and so many other satisfied customers love them so much. :-)

So, if you are looking for a fun gift to share with your child this Valentine's Day -- or for their birthday this year, why not consider creating a personalized book from Trueberry Books for them?  You will both love snuggling up together on the couch or in bed, as you read this story about them, and admire the personal photos throughout the book.  It will be a book that will be read over and over again, and cherished for years to come.  :-)

The Tooth Fairy Connection -- "Helping the Tooth Fairy Distribute the Magic!" (Review)

My daughters are not old enough to need the tooth fairy right now, but when they do, I can't wait to see the look on their faces, when they find these gold coins left under their pillows.  I was so excited when I stumbled upon these coins a few weeks ago, that I had to share these coins and the story behind them with you.

The Tooth Fairy Legend

The legend of the tooth fairy is a prized one in American culture. But, where did this legend come from?  The following article describes the conventions and possible origins of the tooth fairy.

The tooth fairy comes when a child has lost a tooth. Commonly, she is very small, and she comes in the middle of the night. The child is to leave the tooth under his/her pillow, so that the tooth fairy can take it during her visit. Once she has taken the tooth, she leaves monetary reimbursement under the pillow, anything from ten cents to a dollar. (This action is done by a parent.) The teeth are then taken to her tower, and used for her purposes.

Pictures of the tooth fairy have been captured in everything from storybooks to art. The painter Maxfield Parrish is said to have depicted her once in the corner of a painting. Fairies in general are generally considered to be great influences in art, and folklore and legend surround each fairy tale. It is reasonable to think that the tooth fairy legend originated from a place where folklore and legend are tradition, namely, England or Ireland.

At last, the Tooth Fairy has her own coin...

And, it is available for you to help celebrate the magic of those precious childhood transitions!

The Tooth Fairy Coin Set contains 20 professionally minted, golden coins in a rich forest green velour bag. One coin for each tooth a child loses. The Tooth Fairy Coins were designed and patented by Montana Artist, Dawn Duane Evans. They have the weight and feel of US currency, yet the beauty and magic young children believe in. Each coin is 1.73 inches, larger than a quarter, smaller than a fifty cent piece.

These coins are a keepsake...
  • Provide an opportunity to meaningfully participate in your child's life.
  • Perfect gift for baby showers.
  • A fun way for Grandma and Grandpa to get in on the action too, because you never know when or where a tooth is going to come out!
  • Tooth Fairy coins from ToothFairyCoin.com are great gifts for your children who still believe that dreams do come true.
We will never know the true story behind the Tooth Fairy, as different cultures have their own take on lost teeth and the Tooth Fairy. But, no matter what legend you believe, these unique Tooth Fairy coins will help carry on the tradition and magic of the Tooth Fairy in your household, with each tooth lost.  I can't get over how beautiful each gold coin is.  I would have loved to have received these coins when I was little, as it would have made me believe in the Tooth Fairy longer.  Legends like the Tooth Fairy and Santa Claus are what add to the innocence of children.  Watching them in awe when these fictitious people are talked about, will put a smile on any parent's face.  And, with these coins, I know my daughters will believe in the magic of the Tooth Fairy for years to come, as they loose their teeth and transition from child to young adult, and collect a coin for each tooth lost.  These coins will definitely make for special keepsakes that will be cherished by both parent and child.

My Thoughts:
I was excited to receive a sampling of Boudreaux’s Butt Paste products to try out with my two daughters.  Out of all the samples I was sent to try, I have to say my favorites were the Maximum Strength Boudreaux’s Butt Paste and the Baby Kisses Lip Balm.
image
My 16 month old daughter is getting her molars in, so whenever she is teething, she breaks out in a bad rash.  I have found during this time, that even prescribed medications don’t seem to work.  So, when I was sent Boudreaux’s new maximum strength ointment, I wanted to see if it would offer her some relief.  After 2-3 day of use, I noticed an improvement in her rash.  It wasn’t as red, and Savannah squirmed less while changing her, showing that it wasn’t hurting as much.  I will make sure I have this product on hand for all future extreme diaper rash episodes.
image
As for the Baby Kisses Lip Balm, this came in handy with our new daughter, Arabella.  With her dry and cracking skin and lips, I was able to apply this balm to her lips and cracked cheeks to provide instant moisture.
Now that my daughter’s teething-induced diaper rash has gone away, I have switched to using the original, regular strength Boudreaux’s Butt Paste.  I have also been using this on our 3 week old, and it has kept diaper rashes away.
Many of my girlfriends use this brand and trust it when it comes to treating and preventing diaper rashes with their little ones.  Now, I am also a fan of this brand, and will continue to use on my girls.
If you are looking for the perfect baby shower gift or gift for a new mom, why not buy her a sampling of the Boudreaux’s Butt Paste product line?  They will thank you for it!  Or, if you are mom with a baby who is prone to diaper rashes or has sensitive skin, then you should definitely give this brand a try.  If it has helped my diaper with her extreme diaper rash, it may work wonders with your little one, too.
