My Thoughts: My daughters are still too young to understand the difference between animated series, so when they watch Car's Life, they think they are watching more cars from the popular Disney Pixar franchise. But, with that being said, if you are not familar with this animated series, you may find yourself disappointed if you expect it to be just like Cars. The only thing these two movies series have in common is animated cars that talk. Other than that, Car's Life is geared more towards little ones, as is it is easier to understand and shorter in length (this new release is only 85 minutes). Even though I am a fan of Disney's Cars, I have to say that watching Car's Life movies with the girls, I have grown to like them. Each of the films in this series from Entertainment One teaches little ones a lesson that they can apply or relate to their own lives. For instance, in this new feature film, children will learn the importance of teamwork, honesty and cooperation. It is hard to find wholesome family movies that you can share with even the littlest of kids, and Car's Life 3: The Royal Heist doesn't disappoint. So, if you are looking for a great kid-friendly film to share with your little ones -- boys or girls (as my girls love the bright colored talking cars, too), then you may want to consider picking up Car's Life 3: The Royal Heist, when it arrives on DVD on April 23rd. Disclosure: I was sent a copy of this DVD from the vendor in order to write up an honest review. The views above are mine and mine alone.

A
wacky inventor, his camera-crazy best friend and a madcap monkey make a
massive mistake when let loose in a mad scientist’s laboratory. With
lotions and potions spilling everywhere, the troublesome trio
accidentally creates Franc, the product of a reaction between a common
flea and one of the scientist’s mystery concoctions. What they fail to
realize, however, is that this ‘monster’ is actually a soft-centered
soul with an astounding talent for music.
With
the help of an enchanting nightclub singer Lucille, Franc becomes the
talk of the town, just as stories of Paris’s newest monster attract the
attention of the egotistical police commissioner, hell bent on securing a
big prize to help his battle to become mayor. The unwitting scientists
and the singer must team up to protect Franc, a monster with more than a
musical career to protect!"

My Thoughts:
Did you see A Monster in Paris when it was in theaters? Unfortunately, like many movies, we missed it, but have eagerly waiting for it to come out on DVD and Blu-Ray. So, when I was sent a screener copy over the weekend, we were excited and couldn't wait to see it. We had our 6 and 8 year old nephews overs, and ended up watching this movie while the girls were napping, as we didn't think they would sit through it.
My husband had forget what this movie was about when he saw it, but quickly remembered as soon as this animated comedy began. The movie is set in 1910 in Paris, and follows a scientist, Raoul, whose experiment goes wrong, transforming a tiny flea into a giant, seven foot tall flea. The flea gets loose, and this is when the adventure begins. While you would expect to be afraid of an oversized bug, this bug has a special talent -- he can play the guitar. Yes, you read that right -- he is a gifted guitar player, who performs alongside Lucille, a pretty nightclub performer, while wearing a fancy suit and hat.
Both children and adults will fall in love with this animated film, and find themselves laughing from the beginning to the end. My youngest nephew fell in love with Charles, the singing monkey, and danced around every time he appeared on the screen. Haven't seen the movie yet? Don't worry, I will not spoil the ending and tell you if the flea is caught and transformed back to its original size -- you will just have to pick up a copy of this movie and watch for yourself, to find out. :-)
