Little Ones Will Love the Cute "Wheels on the Bus" Musical Toy from the Learning Journey International #tlji (Product Review)

The Learning Journey

"Young children will be on board with learning as they play with Wheels on the Bus! A large handle makes it easy for little hands to hold this portable unit, which features fun sound effects, a blinking light, four interactive buttons and the familiar Wheels On the Bus melody. Requires 2 AA batteries (included).
Recommended for children twelve months and up."

Well, Savannah is one step closer to riding the big yellow bus, as she started preschool this year, and will be going to Kindergarten next.  I don't know what it is about the school bus that gets her so excited.  But, each and every time she sees one go by in the neighborhood or as we are running errands, she can't help put point it out and then breaks out in the "Wheels on the Bus" song.  :-)

While I had sung this song to her in the past, it wasn't until she started preschool that this and other familiar preschool/toddler songs were learned and sung day in and day out.  And, seeing that Savannah loves the big yellow school bus, it is only fitting that "Wheels on the Bus" is her favorite of all the songs. :-)

So, when I was asked to review the "Wheels on the Bus" toy from the Learning Journey International, I knew the perfect person to help me out.  As soon as Savannah saw it, her eyes lit up.  And, even though she was a little too old for the old, as it is recommended for 12 months and up, she couldn't stop pushing all the buttons and watching the lights blink.  She thought the sounds effects were neat, and couldn't wait to show it off to Bella.

Bella, who is 2.5 yr. old was more suited for this toy, and loved the handle, which made this cute toy fun to carry around the house, and to take on car rides.  Now whenever we are out and about and see a bus go by, either Bella or Savannah will quickly grab the "Wheels on the Bus" toy which they always bring in the car, and tell start singing along to the song.

If you are looking for a fun interactive toy to give your little one this upcoming holiday season, or have one who loves big yellow school buses just as much as my Savannah does, then this would make the perfect gift.

At only $14.99, you can't go wrong for the price.  We have only had this toy for a couple of weeks, but not a day goes by that the girls don't tote it around, or push the buttons to listen to the sound effects and watch the blinking lights.  They love this toy, and I know your little one will, too! :-)

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

My Thoughts:

My girls become fans of this show when they stumbled across it on the streaming media player.  Now, they can't get enough of this show and its fun-loving characters, as they learn about proper nutrition, in a unique and exciting way.  So, when the girls saw that I had to review a new "The Wheels on the Bus" DVD release, they were all ready this past Friday to lend a hand.  And for the duration of the DVD, which is only 36 minutes in length -- perfect for little ones with short attention spans, they were glued to the television, watching Papaya and Mango teach them about healthy food choices, while taking them on fun-filled adventures.  Children ages 1-5 yrs. old will definitely love this series, which pairs talking puppets with real life people.  You rarely find a good children's show or series, for that matter, that focuses on healthy eating and nutrition.  But, I have to hand it to "The Wheels on the Bus" as they deliver. I wish I had known about this musical adventure series when I was doing nutrition programs in the school back during my health educator days, as I would have definitely incorporated this series into my lesson plans, and mentioned them to parents and teachers looking for great nutritional-based programs for little ones.

My girls loved this new DVD release from Entertainment One Home Video, which contains 3 full-length episodes, with music that will have them tapping their feet and dancing all around.  Keep an ear out for Roger Daltrey, who lends his voice to the character, Argon the Dragon.  :-)
