When my girls saw me take the goodies out of the tote, the instantly knew it was from McDonald's thank to the golden arches on the tote itself and the items inside, including a comfy cotton t-shirt which I took for myself and wore to bed the other night. :-)

My girls were so excited about the goodies from McDonald's that they were up for posing with the items.  Here are a few photos I snapped of the girls.  Notice the one with Savannah pretending to sip coffee from the travel mug and sporty the Egg McMuffin t-shirt.  She told me she was pretending to me on a Monday morning, as I am always rushing around to get out of the house and usually have to stop on the way to dropping Savannah off at McDonald's to get a coffee to help wake me up. :-) Gotta love kids!

FLASH GIVEAWAY -- FREE COFFEE FOR A YEAR AT MCDONALD'S

I can't tell you how much fun I had this weekend trying out my new Keurig machine.  Yes, I know.  I am probably one of the last few to own this marvelous machine.  But, now I can see why so many people love this brewing machine.

Thanks to Newman's Own Organics, Green Mountain Coffee and McDonald's, I was sent the Keurig Platinum brewing system as part of their Virtual Coffee Tasting that happened this morning at 10AM. The live virtual coffee tasting event featured Nell Newman, president of Newman’s Own Organics along with local McDonald’s Owner/Operator Wayne LeBrun and Green Mountain Coffee experts. The Keurig brewing system was sent as they wanted to make sure those that tuned in virtually could enjoy a cup of Green Mountain Coffee, while learning more about the history of Newman’s Own Organics coffee with McDonald’s in New England, being able to behind-the-scenes info and tour of the Green Mountain roasting plant in Vermont, and learning about the roasting process and taste of Newman’s Own Organics McDonald’s blend.

What a fun morning! Thankfully the girls decided to sleep in late, so I was able to participate in the Livestream without interruption.  I think this was the first morning in a long time that I was able to drink my morning jo hot, and not have to reheat in the microwave or throw out. Yes!

Fresh Baked Goodies from McDonalds -- Who Knew? (Review)

 

In an effort to continually appeal to the tastes of its customers, McDonald’s recently announced the addition of five bakery items in its New England and Albany, NY area restaurants. The new bakery offerings include cheese danish, blueberry muffin, multi-grain berry muffin, banana bread and mini vanilla scones. These items are available throughout the day.  McDonald’s new bakery offerings are made with high quality ingredients like real dairy butter, whole grain oats and real fruits like blueberries, raspberries and banana puree. All bakery offerings at McDonald’s contain no preservatives. The new multi-grain berry muffin contains 280 calories, has zero grams of trans fat per labeled serving and is a good source of fiber.

I recently had the opportunity to try out each of the new bakery items, and boy was I impressed.  With this "heat wave" going on in New England these past few days, the last thing I wanted to be doing was cooking in the kitchen.  So, yesterday, we headed to McDonald's for dinner and for a treat, sampled the 5 new bakery items.  I have to say that my favorite was the banana bread.  It was so moist and tasty.  You could actually taste the banana puree in each bite.  My husband loved the blueberry muffin. He couldn't get over the plump blueberries that were added to this muffin.  Each and every bakery item tasted fresh, and left you wanting more.  Savannah couldn't stop sampling each of these bakery treats, so it was hard to say what her favorite was.  I am loving that you can order these items all day long.  So, now my husband has another option besides McDonald's oatmeal in the AM, when he is running late and can't eat at home.  And, if I want a treat in the evening with my tea, and not have to spend time in the kitchen baking and cleaning, all I have to do is head to the local McDonald's to satisfy my sweet tooth.
