Back to School Must Haves -- #7 Make Lunchtime Fun with Lunch Pets! -- Review and #Giveaway

Disclosure: I was sent a sample for review purpose from the vendor in exchange for an honest review. All views shared are mine and mine alone.

Make Lunch Time... FUN TIME!

Will your kids be packing and bringing a lunch this school year?  As I mentioned in a previous post about healthy snack options to pack for your kids' lunches, many parents are opting to send their kids to school with a packed lunch to save money on expensive school lunches when you have multiple kids, as well as know what your kids are eating.  I remember when I was young and was sent to school with lunch money, on days I didn't like what was being served, I used my lunch money to buy cookies or chips from the vending machine, along with sugary drinks.  Not really a healthy, balanced meal...and, not food that gave me energy to make it through the rest of the school day.  Some of my friends who have kids in public school have found the same thing happening with their kids. If they didn't like what was being served, they would eat unhealthy snacks from the vending machines, or just grab a soda and pocket the rest of the money.  Then, when they got home, they raided the fridge as they were hungry.  To help prevent this, and make sure kids are making healthy lunch choices, packing a lunch with them may be the best bet for parents.

Even though my girls are homeschooled, many of their classes occur during lunch time, or we are traveling at lunch to a class.  So, either I have to pack a lunch for the girls to enjoy with their friends at a class, or they are eating in the car en route to class.  We have been homeschooling for five years now, so we have learned it is better to pack a lunch than eat out when we find ourselves needing to eat lunch (or even dinner) on the road.  And, when you pack a lunch, you need a good lunch bag or tote to store your kid's food in, that will keep it cold and organized.

Each year, in addition to buying a new backpack, my girls also choose a new lunch tote.  This year they didn't have to walk up and down the aisles at the store looking for a lunch tote as they were sent oh so cute and huggable Lunch Pet to help me review, and they absolutely love them!  They can't wait for school to start so that they can help me pack their lunch, and then show off their new Lunch Pets to their friends and teachers.

If you stay up late watching television, you may have seen the Lunch Pets infomercial on television.  I have seen the following video a few times on television, and it prompted me to visit the Lunch Pets website to learn more.

But, before I could place an order for Lunch Pets lunch boxes for my girls, I was asked to review and offer a giveaway on my blog, so I jumped at the opportunity.  Recently, I was sent the HungryPup and SnackyCat Lunch Pets for my girls to check out.

We decided to keep the cute HungryPup, and will be giving away the adorable SnackyCat, so be sure to read on to learn how you can enter for a chance to win this fun new Lunch Pets for your child.

As you can see in the photo below, my oldest daughter, who is a huge dog lover, really LOVES her HungryPup Lunch Pets tote.

She has never seen a cuter lunch tote, as says she loves how it comes with a snap together handle to hold in hand or secure to her scooter handle bar, and the addition of the name tag holder will keep her Lunch Pets from being taken from another child who may show up with the same cute Lunch Pets Tote.

Don't worry, I bought another SnackyCat for my youngest daughter, as she wanted her own Lunch Pets to tote around and carry her lunch in style to classes.  :-)

The Cup Cozy Pillow is the World's Best Cup Holder for Home and On The Go - Get One for Everyone on Your Holiday Shopping List This Year! (Review)

Disclosure: I was sent a sample from the vendor in exchange for an honest review. All views shared are mine and mine alone.

Do you have a little man who comes into your house at night or when you aren't home and steals one of your family's socks?  Over time, you find that he is making more frequent visits and you are are left with lonely socks, unable to find their match.  I have a basket filled in the laundry room with these lonely socks, in hopes of reconnecting their with pair one day.  On occasion, my girls will run and grab two mismatched socks to wear -- this is usually when they are running low on socks due to not having matches, and I finally decided not to replace socks.  One day I hope to catch this sock thief and see what he is doing with all our socks. :-)

In addition to a sock thief, we also have phone and remote control thieves, who like playing games on us, and will hide our stuff, only to make us tear the house apart looking for them.  While hide and seek is a fun game, it isn't when all you want to do it use your phone or sit down after a long day and watch some television.  It is difficult when you can't find your phone or the remote.  And, while I grew up being my family's personal remote control and changing the channel on our dial television, I have since retired from this job, and prefer my trusty old remote to do the job for me.

Maybe there is a secret land where all these thieves live, and they are living it up with our gadgets and socks, and having a good laugh at our expense.  Or, maybe we are just so busy and forget where we put things.  I would prefer to think it is a thief taking our stuff, but we all know this isn't the case.  So, what can be done to keep remotes and even sippy cups and drink bottles (which also are good at going missing) safe and within arms' reach from us when we are on the couch, or on the go?  Enter the Cup Cozy Pillow...which you may have seen in an "As Seen on TV" infomercial or on Steve Harvey's Funderdome show.

I first learned of this product by doing a search online for something to keep my remotes and drinks in one place, as I was growing tired on losing the remote or having my girls misplace their drink cups, when they weren't spilling them on the couch, or knocking them on the floor.  As soon as I saw the Cup Cozy Pillow, I had to get my hands on one, and try it out for myself.

I read so many rave reviews on Amazon, and saw how others solved the same issues we were experiences (minus the missing socks, which is still an ongoing issue in our house), and knew this was just what we needed.

After reaching out to the folks at Cup Cozy Pillow, they sent me a sample of their 5 cup deluxe cozy pillow (also available in 3 whole cup holder, too).  While my husband and gears weren't excited to try it out, I sure was! I wanted to put it to the test and see how it worked at keeping my remotes for our television and streaming devices all in one location, as well as have a spot to put my phone and a hot or cold beverage.  With four people in our household, I knew the 5 whole cup cozy pillow was what we needed, so everyone had their own spot to store a drink when we enjoyed quality time on the couch.

So, how did the Cup Cozy Pillow work?  Perfectly!  I love how you can place this cup cozy pillow on the couch cushion next to you, on a nearby foot rest or end table, and have everything you need all in one place. No more worrying about where a particular remote walked off to, or having a drink spill when someone gets up off the couch.

I have seen through the Cup Cozy Pillow website that this product is great for on-the-go travel, used when camping, on picnics, etc.

This is such a versatile product and one you will try once and wonder how you ever lived without it.  Since receiving the Cup Cozy Pillow to try out, we have not had a visit by the remote or phone thief, and I am not running to grab paper towels to clean up a drink spill on the couch or floor, which I love!  It is great to sit down on the couch and have the remotes in one spot and a spot to hold my drink, when I need a free hand.

With the holidays fast approaching, why not check off everyone on your shopping list by gifting them with their very own Cup Cozy Pillow.  They are great for kids away at college, busy families with kids, grandparents, etc. Once you try this product you will see why I and so many other people can't stop raving about and recommend the Cup Cozy Pillow.

So, what are you waiting for?  Say goodbye once and for all to the remote and phone thief in your house, and get this handy cup holder pillow today.  Head on over to http://cupcozypillow.com/ to place your order today.

Holiday Gift Ideas -- Teddy Tanks from Telebrands -- A Fish Bowl or Fun Storage and Stuffed Animal, All in One (Review)

Disclosure: I was sent a sample from the vendor in order to write up an honest review.  All views shared are mine and mine alone.

Telebrands™
Teddy Tanks Logo

Teddy Tank – As Seen On TV

Ever since we took the girls to the country fair this summer and they saw the carnival games where you could win your own goldfish, they have been asking for a fish of their own.  But, being only 3 and 4 yrs. old, we don't think they are ready for the glass fish bowl in their room, or a larger fish tank in the house, as they still have tantrums where they like to throw their toys or stumble into things to knock them over.  The last thing I want to have to worry about during their outbursts and trying to cover the fish tank to prevent it from being knocked over.  I am also afraid the girls will try to feed the fish more than it needs to be, and then be disappointed if it passes away.

But, with the holidays comes kids asking for their own pets.  From dogs, cat, birds and even hamsters, we have been hearing it all while shopping for dog food recently at the pet store.  And, then when the girls saw the fish tanks filled with colorful fish along the back wall, they were back to asking for a fish of their own - preferably Nemo. :-)

Thanks to another great As Seen on TV product, Teddy Tanks, from Telebrands, the girls will be surprised when they come down on Christmas morning to find a surprise. At first they will see a cute plush penguin with a round clear belly.

But, when they take a closer look, they will find out that this is a fun fish bowl made especially for them, and that they will be fish owners. :-)  And, the fun really beings when they see how they feed their new friend.  The mouth of the penguin is the opening to drop the fish food into.

How does the fish breath or get oxygen, you ask?  Check this out...

Pretty cool!

Check out the other fun ways your child can use their Teddy Tank...

In addition to using this as a fish bowl, kids can also choose to simply store small toys like building blocks, hair bows and more into the belly of their cute teddy friend.  Simply put the small items into the teddy's mouth and they drop into the belly.  The Teddy Tank can also be used as a fun piggy bank, to teach little ones about saving money and spending responsibly.

If you like to give unique and fun gifts to your kids and family at the holidays, why not consider picking up a Teddy Tank to surprise them with.  The gift recipient can choose how they want to use the tank -- either as a fish tank, piggy bank or storage space.  And, beign so versatile, they can swithc up this feature whenever they choose.  So, maybe your little one is not ready for a fish just yet -- for now, they will have fun storing their toys in their teddy's belly. :-)

Stocking Stuffer Ideas -- WOW Cup -- The Spill-Free Cups Kids and Moms Will LOVE! - Review and #Giveaway

Disclosure:  I was sent a sample from the vendor in order to write up an honest review.  All views shared are mine and mine alone.

How is your holiday shopping going? Are you almost done?  I still have a few toys left to track down for the girls, and then finish up the stocking stuffer treats.  One item that will be included in their stockings this year, will be the WOW Cup from Telebrands.

About the WOW Cup:

"WOW Cup's auto-sealing technology allows liquid to flow only when you drink. When you're done, it automatically seals, meaning kids can roll, jump and spin and their drink always stays in! It's virtually indestructible too so when kids drop their drinks, as we know they will, not only will you NOT have to worry about cleaning anything up, you'll also know that their Wow Cup is totally unharmed no more messy clean ups! Just fill, twist and sip."

----

I am not usually one who jumps at products seen on television late at night, but after seeing an infomercial about the WOW Cup, I was intrigued.  Both of my girls are transitioning away from sippy cups, but still are not ready to drink from a big person's cup, as they still like to tilt the cups back to much or don't hold the cup with two hands and drop it.  While I could rely on sippy cups to prevent spills and messes, I do want to help transition them to a big kid's cup, and think the WOW cup is just the answer.

It is funny -- after seeing the WOW Cup on television a short time ago, I woke the next day to find an email asking if I wanted to review one.  I couldn't help but laugh before I asked for them to send one so that I could try with the girls, and see if the cup was really "WOW."  :-)

Upon receiving, my girls really helped me put this cup to the test.  I can't tell you how many times they dropped the cup, which was full.  Not only did it not shatter or crack, due to how well it is made.  It is so durable, even when Bella threw the cup down the stairs, the lid stayed on, the drink remained inside and the cup didn't crack. Now, that was "Wow" in my books, as we have lost many a sippy cups and bottles when the girls were rough housing and would throw them like this.

Usually, I don't like to bring drinks in the car for the girls, or offer them up unless we are sitting at a restaurant, as they always seem to leak onto their car seats, my car's interior, or wind up all over the floor, leaving the car mats and rugs a mess, and a pain to clean.  But, now thanks to the dishwasher safe WOW cup, which really is "WOW", the girls can enjoy a cold drink on the go, and I don't have to worry about any spills or messy cleanups.

Another feature I love about this cup is it seal.  When your child is not drinking, nothing leaks out. No bugs or critters can get in either, if they are outside with their WOW Cup.  And, when it comes to washing and putting the cups pieces back together, I don't have to fumble trying to figure what part goes were. I simply add the girl's drink, attach the lid until you hear a twist and then hand off the drink.  Kids can drink anywhere on the cups, as it offers a fun 360 drink edge. But, best of all, the WOW cup is just like a big kid's cup, only better, in that it prevents spills for those in training. :-)

My girls are so proud of themselves now that they have said goodbye to their sippy cups, and reach for the WOW cup whenever they want a drink.  The WOW cups come in four bright colors -- blue, pink, green and purple, making them great for both boys and girls to enjoy and carry around.

Wow Cup

I can't wait to see the girls' faces when they wake on Christmas morning to find a new WOW cup in their stocking.  Right now, we have only had the one I was sent to review to use, and the girls really don't like to share.  They will love having their own cups, in their favorite color. And, with the price being only $10 plus s/h, you can't go wrong.  I also picked up a couple extras to leave at my parent's house for the girls to use.

An Afternoon Play Date Made More Fun with Ball Pets from Telebrands (Review)

Disclosure:  I was sent samples from the vendor in order to write up an honest review.  All views shared are mine and mine alone.

Ball Pets – Pop Up Friends – As Seen On TV

Last week I surprised my daughters and a couple of their friends after school with a toy testing party to try out a fun toy, that will definitely be a hit this upcoming holiday season.  Earlier this month I was sent a handful of Ball Pets, which are an "As Seen On TV" Telebrands toy.  Have you seen the infomercial on these cute roll em, toss  em and catch em toys?

Prior to being sent these toys, I knew nothing of them.  But, as soon as I and then my girls laid eyes on the Ball Pets, we fell in love.  They are really cute, and I love how each of the six pets have a fun name, including Sunny the Puppy, Pinky the Unicorn and Berry Blue Kitty.  Currently three out of the Ball Pets styles are available for purchase in stores, while the additional three colors/styles can be found online at www.telebrands.com.

So, what makes Ball Pets so much fun?  This toys, which is geared towards children ages 3+ and retails for $19.99/Ball Pet, is two toys in one.

When rolled up into ball, it can be used to play toss and catch or even rolled around on the floor.  But, the real fun begins when you pull open the balls and reveal the cute fluffy plus pet inside.

Ball Pets – Pop Up Friends – As Seen On TV
Ball Pets – Pop Up Friends – As Seen On TV

My girls and their friends had never heard of Ball Pets, so the big reveal was a treat.  I loved hearing the girls let out "Oh, how cute" "I want that one," among other fun comments, before I handed off the Ball Pets for them to play around with.  I was sent an assortment of colors, which made it fun for the girls to choose from, based on the their favorite color and the cute full size pet once they were all revealed.

The girls would have been content with just playing and snuggling with their Ball Pets, but I wanted to have fun at our "Surprise After School Ball Pets Party" and came up with some fun games that utilized the Ball Pets.  Knowing how much fun the girls were having rolling around their Ball Pets, I set up paper towel rolls in the hallways and had the girls use their Ball Pets as the bowling balls.

They had a blast taking turns to see who could knock down the most paper towel rolls.  More giggles were hand when I blindfolded the girls and had they try out bowl without vision. :-)  After bowling, we moved on to the classic Monkey in the Middle game, where we used the Ball Pets in place of a ball.  This was another fun game the girls like using their new Ball Pets with.  And, for the next couple of hours, the girls played these and other games they came up with using their Ball Pets.  It was fun to watch them get creative and even make up new games using their Ball Pets.

I don't know about you, but I love toys that have multiple uses, as this keeps them fun and engaging for kids.  Usually toys are only played with the first day and then a handful of times thereafter, if they don't offer much interactive play.  But, I have found with the Ball Pets from Telebrands, that the girls not only love to snuggle with their furry friends at bedtime, but will carry them around the house, to play catch, or simple to lay with while watching a movie.  Savannah has even taken her Ball Pets to school for show and tell, and I heard the kids went crazy during the big reveal and couldn't wait to be given the chance to try out the Ball Pets, converting it from a ball to the full size pet.

With the holidays fast approaching, the Ball Pets would make a great gift to give children.  And, with the assortment of colors and styles, you are sure to find a Ball Pet that will put a smile on your child's  face.

To learn more about Ball Pets from Telebrands, including ordering these roly-poly pals online, visit www.telebrands.com.

FYI... Right now Toys 'R Us has the Ball Pets for only $9.99.  You can order online and have shipped to your home, or pick up in stores.  For this price, why not pick up them all for fun rainy/snowy day fun.  It was hard for my girls and their friends to choose a furry friend.  I am guessing that Santa will be surprising them with a few of the other Ball Pets, at this price! :-)

Watch Birds Up Close Without Disturbing with the My Spy Birdhouse (Review)

Disclosure:  I was sent a sample from the vendor in order to write up an honest review. All views shared are mine and mine alone.

Whenever my girls go to visit my parents, they firs they do is run to the kitchen window to see if any birds are eating from the window feeder my dad has attached to the window.  But, as they run up near the sneak, the noise must startle the birds, as they usually fly away to the disappointment to my girls.

They have tried tip toeing into the kitchen, and even slid like snakes on the floor in hopes to catch a glimpse of the birds. But, each and every time they get close the sink, the birds fly off.

I had seen the My Spy Birdhouse infomercial on television one night and thought that this would be a cute gift to surprise the girls with.  We don't have a bird feeder or house at house, so I thought this would be the perfect way to start attacking the birds to our back yard, so that my bird watching girls can enjoy the birds up close.

Before I could go online and order a My Spy Birdhouse, I had received an email asking if wanted to review it.  Perfect timing, especially because I was thinking about picking up to try out and promote as part of my Easter gift guide.  :-)  Within a few days of the email, the My Spy Birdhouse arrived at my door.

I have shared that my husband is not a handyman, so I make a point to only pick up items that area easy to put together and have only a handful of pieces.  When my husband saw the box and pieces, he thought it would be a daunting task to put it together.  But, in a matter of minutes the My Spy Birdhouse was put together and ready to be suction cupped to the kitchen window.

  • Clear, acrylic window with 2-way mirror film lets you see birds inside, but they can't see you
  • Watch birds build nests, hatch their eggs, and feed their young
  • Safely attaches to any glass surface with included suction cups
  • Made of durable, weather-resistant materials
  • Measures 7-3/4" x 6-1/4" W x 4-1/2" L
  • For ages 3 and up.

While we wait for birds to realize that we now have a birdhouse ready for them to move into and build a nest, my girls are studying up on the different types of birds from a bird book my dad picked up for them.

I know that when the birds arrive, I, too, will enjoy observing them as I clean the dishes at the sink.  And, the girls will go crazy, as they will finally be able to see a bird up close without scaring it away.

Are your kids bird lovers?  If so, the My Spy Birdhouse would be the perfect gift to surprise them with this Easter.  Now that the warmer weather is returning, so will the birds, and they will be looking for the perfect place to build a next.  Why not offer them a comfy space, where they can build a nest, hatch their eggs and raise their young, while you get to observe with the kids, while not disturbing them?

Don't forget to follow My Spy Birdhouse on Facebook to share photos of the birds you and your observes, for special offers, etc.
