I spoke too soon when I told a friend that this winter the girls were relatively healthy, with only one mild cold. Shortly after saying this, I jinxed myself, and myself myself caring for my two girls, who for the past few weeks have been battling head colds, stomach bugs, runny noses, congestion, fevers...you name it. When it seems like they are getting better, they seem to catch something days later and are laid up again. And, it doesn't help when everyone else is sick and crowding the doctor's office and pharmacy. It seems like the germs are out there in full force and we keep bringing them home with us.
You may recall me sharing how I homeschool my girls. So, even though they have been sick, I have had to find times during the day that they have enough energy and desire to do school work. I have had to get creative as oftentimes they would rather lay on the couch or play with a toy or two for a short time before needing to rest. But, thanks to Pley, the online toy rental service, my mom has become the cool grandmother. Well, she was cool before enrolling in this monthly service, but has become even cooler as she has been visiting the girls on the weekends to bring them soup and jello and play a bit. Each and ever time she has come these past couple of months, we brings with her new toys for the girls to play with. And, on the few occasions we have gone to visit them to get from fresh air and get out of the house, she has new toys waiting for them to play with.
I don't know about your kids, but my girls' eyes always light up when they see a new toy. Even if it is a toy they only play with for a short time, that newness really intrigues them and they can't wait to play with it. You may recall me sharing about Pley last month in a post about taking control of your toy clutter. If you missed my post, you can read it here: http://www.inspiredbysavannah.com/2016/01/take-control-of-toy-clutter-in-your.html.
My house is filled with toys from top to bottom, but the girls continue to ask for new toys. With only limited space and knowing that most of the toys they show interest in will only be played with a handful of times before I have to put away, I have found Pley to be a wonderful service. And, my mom is finding this out to, as she can swap up toys based upon when the grandkids will be visiting, so that she will have toys on hands for them to play with. And, when the grandkids go home, she sends back the toys they used for new ones...ready for the next time the kids come to visit. The best part is that she doesn't have to worry about toy clutter or finding a place to store toys the grandkids only occasional play with, but may so interest again in the future. Pley offers her the ability to have the latest and greatest toys and more, without the hassle of storing. Currently, Pley offers access to a large selection of educative toys, including 400+ LEGO sets and popular robotics toys. And, they are always on the hunt for the best toys, so their assortment continues to reflect the latest and greatest toys
Just last month the folks at Pley introduced new toy options to they already diverse line up. Now you will find doll clothes, electronics (remote BB8 anyone?), and even preschool toys when you sign up and start renting toys from Pley.
FYI...All these toys come at a low price point vs. buying toys. Average members save ~$800/year.
Now can you see why my girls and their cousins think my mom is the coolest! :-) If only they had Pley around when I was little. I would have loved to have received new toys each month to play with and send back when I got bored with them for new ones. Really is a sweet deal if you ask me, especially with Pley adding a new new option to their line up, where for the low price of only $9.99, children can received one toy a month.
"Besides having access to a variety of toys, kids learn the concepts of sharing and reducing waste for the environment. "
Thanks to Pley, I have found a way, along with my mom, to keep my girls' toys feeling fresh and exciting during these long winter months. They love being surprised with a new toy in the mail and playing with it until they are bored. Then, we send it back to Pley and wait for a new toy the girls have been itching to play with in the mail. They love the experience of new toys each month and I love not feeling like I am throwing away money each month on toys that only get played with a few times. The money I have saved on not buying new toys since enrolling in Pley, I have been stashing away in a savings account that we will use come the summer time for a family vacation. I can't wait to surprise the girls with a fun vacation and share how cutting down on careless toy purchases helped pay for a trip the whole family can enjoy.
Have your kids already gotten tired of the toys Santa brought them? If they have been asking for you to take them to a toy store to buy more toys, why not think twice about that new toy purchase, and instead head on over to Pley.com today and sign up. Compare only paying $9.99 a month for a new toy in their online toy rental service to what toys go for nowadays. The other day I spent almost $30 on a doll for my girls to give their friend for her birthday. I should have given a gift card instead to Pley, and she could experience 3 months worth of toys instead of one toy.
Stay tuned as I will be sharing my top 5 Easter gift ideas in the coming weeks, with one of the toys being one that my girls tried out through the Pley service and we ended up buying as they loved it so much, and continue to play with it, day in and day out. But, in the meantime, be sure to head on over to Pley.com to learn more about this wonderful toy rental service. Maybe Pley is what your family has been searching for when it comes to taking control over the toy clutter in your house.
