GRR-IFIC GIFT-SET NOW AVAILABLE TO OWN

Just in time for the holidays, PBS Distribution recently released a new “DANIEL TIGER’S HAPPY HOLIDAYS DVD + FIGURINE” gift set for fans of this hit preschool PBS Kids animated series.. This new gift-set from the popular PBS KIDS series offers two ways to interact with Daniel Tiger. The DVD “Daniel Tiger’s Happy Holidays” includes seven grr-ific tales, one of which is a double holiday episode, Snowflake Day!, that is sure to delight fans and get them excited about the holidays. The gift-set also features a Daniel Tiger figurine with movable head and arms. Kids will love watching these fun-filled stories while playing with the Daniel Tiger figurine.
"The first TV series inspired by the iconic, award-winning MISTER ROGERS’ NEIGHBORHOOD, DANIEL TIGER’S NEIGHBORHOOD, from The Fred Rogers Company, stars 4-year-old Daniel Tiger, son of the original program’s Daniel Striped Tiger, who invites young viewers into his world, giving them a kid’s-eye view of his life. As they closely follow and share Daniel’s everyday adventures, preschoolers ages 2-4 and their families learn the fun and practical strategies and skills necessary for growing and learning. One of the key ingredients that sets the series apart is its groundbreaking use of catchy, musical strategies that reinforce each theme and that preschoolers and parents will both sing – and use – together in their daily lives. DANIEL TIGER’S NEIGHBORHOOD, which debuted in September 2012, airs Monday-Friday on PBS KIDS (check local listings)."

DANIEL TIGER’S HAPPY HOLIDAYS DVD + FIGURINE” (SRP is $14.99) is now available to own, and was released on November 4th. The DVD run time is approximately 100 minutes. In addition to the seven stories included on this new release, the DVD also includes fun bonus features – printable activities and coloring pages, as well as bonus live-action music videos, which interweaves scenes from the show with footage of the show’s musical composers singing “It’s a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood” and “You Are Special.”

Daniel Tiger’s Happy Holidays” is also being sold separately, without the figurine for only $12.99.  But, for $2.00 more, you can't go wrong for the Gift Set as fans of Daniel Tiger will love toting this cute little pocket sized figurine around wherever they go.

Here is more about each of the 7 full-length episodes included on this special holiday DVD...

“Snowflake Day!” (Double Episode) -- In this special half-hour holiday musical episode, Daniel prepares for his big role as the snowflake in the neighborhood’s Snowflake Day Show! All of the neighbors pitch in to make the celebration a true success!

“Something Special for Dad” -- When Dad receives a letter from Grandpere, Daniel sees how happy Dad is. Daniel really loves Dad, so he decides to send him a letter too. Then he goes to the Post Office with Mom, where he learns how letters are sorted and mailed. He even joins Mr. McFeely on his “speedy delivery” to give Dad his very special letter!

“I Love You, Mom” -- Daniel wants to surprise Mom Tiger with her favorite banana bread because he knows how much she likes it – and “making something is one way to say I love you.” He and Dad go to Baker Aker’s Bakery, where they learn about the bread-making process. They return home to surprise Mom and she happily shares the banana bread gift with them too!

“Thank You, Grandpere Tiger!” -- Grandpere Tiger comes to visit, but Daniel is sad that Grandpere can’t stay for the special “Thank You Day” celebration later that day. Daniellearns to be thankful for the time they DO have together, and is then surprised when Grandpere appears at the celebration after all!

“Neighborhood Thank You Day” -- It’s Thank You Day in the Neighborhood – a special celebration when each of the neighbors puts a note in the “Thank You Tree” as a way to say thank you to one another. Daniel has trouble deciding who of his neighbors he wants to thank with his note. The episode ends with a Thank You Day feast with all the neighbors celebrating together.

“Katerina’s Costume” -- Daniel and Katerina are at Miss Elaina’s Museum-Go-Round to make their costumes for Dress Up Day. While Daniel and Miss Elaina know exactly what they want to be, Katerina is having a harder time deciding on just the right costume. Eventually she comes up with a very clever idea!

“Dress Up Day” --  It’s Dress Up Day in the Neighborhood of Make-Believe and it’s time for the annual main street parade! The children visit all the stores, showing off their fancy costumes and receiving different stickers from their neighbors.

---

As a parent, what I loved best about this new holiday set is that the episodes chosen to be included on this DVD are all about family.  The episodes celebrate family as a whole, as well as moms, dads and even grandparents.  In addition to teaching important life lessons and skills to handle things like anger, patience or even sharing, this popular animated series is perfect for preschoolers, and one I enjoy sitting down to watch each day with my girls.  And, as we gear up for the holidays, the snow and Santa's arrival, the girls have a fun, new holiday DVD they will be watching this year and for years to come.  Even if the six other episodes were not included on this DVD, I still would have bought it because I love the special double holiday episode, "Snowflake Day!," as do my girls. I've lost count on how many times we have watched it. And, they aren't getting bored with this DVD yet. :-)
