Beauty and the Beet DVD

I am so happy that VeggieTales is around, as it offers wholesome entertainment the whole family can enjoy, while also sharing God's messages.  My niece and nephew first introduced me to their popular faith-based series from Big Idea before I had children.  When shopping for holiday gifts, their mom would tell me time and again how much they both loved watching VeggieTales movies, and titles that they were hoping to add to their growing collection.  After seeing through a few of the movies, I, too, was hooked, and couldn't wait to one day share these wonderful movies with my children.  And, now, I can! :-)

In this new release, which is available starting today, we are introduced to Mirabella, who is voiced by Kellie Pickler (yes, she is the one from American Idol and Dancing with the Stars). What can't Kellie do, right?  Well, after watching the trailer of this movie before receiving a copy to review, I knew instantly that Kellie was perfect for the role.  Her accent and charm really make you love her character Mirabelle.

Here is more about this new movie, including the official movie trailer.  You will see that this movie has a theme of unconditional love throughout it --

Synopsis:

"Mirabelle and her traveling family band, the VeggieTones, are determined to make their next gig at Vegetable Square Garden. On their journey, a fierce winter snowstorm hits, and the family gets stuck at a run-down resort! Mr. Beet, the grumpy manager makes them sing - and clean - for their supper. Why is Mr Beet such a beast? And can Mirabelle’s kindness change him? Find out in this hilarious and heartwarming tale of unconditional love! Featuring 8 Songs performed by Kellie Pickler as “Mirabelle.”"

Featuring the new Silly Song with Larry: Mac and Cheese, plus these great DVD extras:
  • The Sweetest Sweet Potato: Behind the Scenes with Kellie Pickler
  • “Show You Love” Sing-Along
  • In the Kitchen With Bob
  • Dolby Digital Surround Sound
  • English and Spanish Subtitles
  • Running Time: Approx. 52 min.
  • And More!
Even though this movie is not a Christmas story, it does warm your heart and get you in the Christmas spirit with the holiday decorations seen throughout the Motel, as well as when Mirabelle and Beet since "Deck the Halls" together.  Both of my girls fell in love with Mirabelle's character, and we spent time after the movie, like we do with all VeggieTales titles, talking about the characters, themes, etc.  Even though my girls are still little, I love how they can grasp the lessons these movies convey to viewers, and how they always seem to have questions, or want to talk about how the movie made the feel.  It is hard to find movies today that you can watch together as a family, and then find yourselves wanting to talk about afterwards.  This is what you will find with the successful and oh so popular VeggieTales movies, including this new release.

So, if you love VeggieTales or are just looking for a wonderful faith-based movie to share with your family during an upcoming family movie night, why not pick up a copy of "Beauty and Beet" today?  You'll fall in love with Mirabelle and find yourself hoping that the Beet will change for the better, with her help.  Don't worry, I will not give away the ending -- you will just have to pick up this movie and watch for yourself. :-)

Oh, and did you hear?  The VeggieTales gang will soon be starring in a brand-new Netflix original series, VeggieTales In the House, which premieres Thanksgiving weekend. Stay tuned, as I will be sharing more about this as the date approaches. I personally can't wait for this new series.  Can you? :-)
