Do you have plans for this upcoming weekend?  If you have kids who are fans of My Little Pony, then you will not want to miss the new movie arriving in theaters on 9/27, MY LITTLE PONY EQUESTRIA GIRLS: RAINBOW ROCKS.

In anticipation of this new release, my girls have been watching the first Equestria Girls movie, which was in theaters last year, over and over again. We have watched it at least once a day, with some days watching it twice.  I can now recite most of the movie and sing along with the girls to the catchy songs, thanks to this marathon watching. :-)

This will be our youngest daughter's first time at the movies, so it should be a treat to see how she reacts, as she is really getting into the Equestria Girls, like her big sister.

Here is more on the movie, as well as a trailer in you case you weren't in the know...

"On the tail of a wildly successful run of My Little Pony Equestria Girls the movie in 2013, Screenvision has teamed up with Hasbro Studios and Shout! Factory to bring the full-length feature My Little Pony Equestria Girls: Rainbow Rocks to more than 300 cinemas across the U.S. and Canada beginning September 27.

My Little Pony Equestria Girls: Rainbow Rocks the movie finds Canterlot High (CHS) hosting a musical showcase, and Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, and Fluttershy are going to be performing with their new band, The Rainbooms. But when The Dazzlings, a new girl group, arrive at CHS and convince everyone to turn the friendly showcase into a Battle of the Bands, tensions mount between the competing musical acts. A now-reformed Sunset Shimmer realizes that the Dazzlings may not be ordinary girls and are after something far more sinister than just being named Best Band at Canterlot High. The Rainbooms call on Princess Twilight to restore harmony to their world to help them perform a musical counter-spell so that they can win a battle that now determines the fate of the entire school!"

So, grab the kids and head to the movies this weekend for a fun afternoon with the Equestria Girls.  My girls are counting down the days until Saturday, and will be all smiles the lights go down and the Equestria Girls appear on the big screen.  :-)
