Looking for something to do with the kids this upcoming weekend?  How about heading to Essex, CT for the Day Out with Thomas™: The Thrill of the Ride Tour 2014?  Thomas is in Essex CT for the Day Out with Thomas™: The Thrill of the Ride Tour 2014, for one more weekend.  he will not only take his fans for a ride, but also talk to them for the very first time on the tour!  The event, which has been taking place for the past couple of weekends, ends it visit to Essex, this ucpoming weekend, May 3 & 4, 2014.  This event is hosted by Essex Steam Train and presented by HIT Entertainment and sponsored by MEGA Brands, a leading toy company, and all inclusive Hard Rock Hotels, and provides a day filled with fun and action for children and adults of all ages.




We went this past Saturday, and even though it was raining, we have a blast seeing Thomas the Tank Engine, riding the amusement rides, the face painting, magic show and so much more.  




We arrived at 12 noon and didn't leave until almost 4PM.  The day flew right by, and the girls could't stop talking about how much fun they on the ride home, and the next day with family and friends.





We have been going to Day Out with Thomas for the past few years. This event has taken us to Edaville Railroad in Carver, MA, the Conway Scenic Railroad in North Conway, NH and to the Essex Steam Train in Essex, CT.  But, I have to say, this is our second time going to the Essex, CT, and it is by far our favorite location to visit with Thomas.  We are about an hour from Essex, but get to enjoy a beatiful scenic ride to the train station.  Luckily, the girls managed to take a quick cat nap before we arrived, so by the time we pulled into the parking lot, their batteries were recharged and they were ready to have some fun.




"Day Out with Thomas: The Thrill of the Ride Tour 2014 is a fun-filled event that provides children of all ages the opportunity to climb aboard and take a ride with Thomas as well as participate in Thomas & Friends themed activities.  The tour, now in its 19th year, will make stops in 42 U.S. cities and is expected to welcome nearly one million passengers in 2014.  For three back-to-back weekends, little engineers and their families are invited to take a 25 minute ride on their favorite engine, meet Sir Topham Hatt®, Controller of the Railway and enjoy a day of Thomas & Friends themed activities including arts & crafts, storytelling and more.  Essex Steam Train will also offer carnival rides, music show, face painting and a visit to the Essex Locomotive Works .









Thomas the Tank Engine rides depart every 45 minutes, rain or shine. Departure times begin at 9:00 am through 3:45 pm each day of the event.  Tickets for the Day Out With Thomas: The Thrill of the Ride Tour 2014 are $23 for ages two and up.

  1. My kids like Thomas and the train. And they wouldn't care if it was snowing out, they would have went to this! Very fun event! They would have love the story time and crafts!
