After Blueberry makes some very funny attempts to make things right, Orange Blossom tries to build the girls their own fabulous resort. When they all work together to make it Berry Bitty City-style, it’s perfect...so perfect, in fact, that TV host Mavis Maraschino decides to do a segment on Cherry Jam right then and there! My Thoughts:

I love seeing my girls get excited when a new DVD comes into the house, especially when they feature characters of my childhood like Strawberry Shortcake.  Did you know that there was a new Strawberry Shortcake release the other day?  I remember I heard something about it a few months ago, but with our crazy lives totally forgot about it until we received the screener copy in the mail on Tuesday.  Savannah was the first to chime, "Yes! Another Strawberry Shortcake movie!" before asking when we would be watching it.  :-)

The girls behaved all day, so that night after dinner I put on this new movie for the family to watch.  I loved Strawberry Shortcake as a girl...what girl didn't?  And, I love how they have re-vamped her for the newer generations, without losing the charm of her character from years ago.

The movie itself is only 71 minutes in length, and also includes a bonus music video, which my girls couldn't get enough out.  If after watching this movie, you and your kids don't get excited about summer fun, I don't know what will.  And, like other Strawberry Shortcakes movies, this one does a great job in teaching kids about the importance of friendship and working together.  Since receiving the other day, we have already watched this movie a handful of times, and danced along to the "It's a Beautiful Lovely Wonderful Day" music video, which gets you in a cheery mood. :-)

  1. I loved strawberry shortcake when I was younger. I had all the toys and dolls. I liked the toys then compared to now, they look a lot different. Even the shows the characters look are not the same. I try telling my kids and showing them what they looked like then to now. My daughter would like this dvd.

  2. The way you describe the movie is purely nostalgic. I hope my kids react happily as well!
