My Thoughts:

While Savannah is not yet 4 (the suggested age for this book), I couldn't resist sharing this amazing devotional book with her at bedtime.  I have been looking for a way to make our bedtime routine special for her, as she is starting to get jealous again that Bella is getting more attention at night due to teething or her trouble going to bed.  So, each night after the girls' tub time and books with Daddy, I take Savannah up to her bedroom and share a devotional with her.

I started talking about God with her this past Christmas, as she is now at the age where she is curious about everything, and eager to learn as much as she can.  Besides Santa coming to bring her and her sister toys, she kept asking me why we celebrate Christmas.  So, in addition to sharing books about the true meaning of Christmas, I also started sharing scriptures with her, and showed her how to pray at bedtime, making sure to thank God for the people in her life, her health, etc.

This cute bedtime devotional from Sheila Walsh couldn't be more fitting for my little princess.  Always decked out in pink shimmery clothing, which she picks out herself, Savannah is every bit a princess.  So, when she saw God's Little Princess Bedtime Devotionals book under the tree on Christmas movie, the sparkly jeweled crown and glitter embellishments on the front cover caught her eye.  While she can't read, and had no idea what the book was about, when I sat down the first time to read a bedtime devotion with her, and followed up with a fun "Good Night Giggles and Grace" activity, she kept asking for more.  I told her that this would be our special mommy/daughter time at bedtime, not only as a way to spent quality time together, but also share our love for God with one another, as we pray together and recite scriptures from the Bible together.

I really enjoy this special quality time with Savannah, and can't wait until Arabella gets a little bit older to join us in our evening bedtime devotions.  I just ordered another copy of this cute devotional book to put away for when that time comes. :-)  But, in the meantime, I continue to look forward to bedtime, when I can sit quietly with Savannah, answer her questions about God and religion, and help guide her on her life's journey with the help of God's word and this great bedtime devotional for girls.

If you have a little one (ages 4-7) who is starting to ask questions about God or religion.  Or, if you are looking for an age appropriate daily devotions and scriptures to read and discuss with your little princess, why not check out this new release from Sheila Walsh? Once you see this book, read through the short easy to understand devotionals, and complete the activities in the "Good Night Giggles and Grace" section with your child, you will see why so many families, including mine, love this devotional from Sheila Walsh.  What a great way to open up lines of communication with your child about God and help teach them God's words.

  3. This is amazing....I have been looking into some children's devotionals but this is awesome. My daughter is starting to get into princesses and pink--I love how they have created something appealing for a toddler! Always hard to figure out a way to incorporate the Bible and Jesus--this is perfect!

Great post on how you wind down the day with your daughter! I am struggling with the bedtime routine, and I think I love how you make it a time for you and her to not only spend time with each other but to get to know God.
