Whether you're a first timer or the greatest, grandest mother of them all, there's on thing moms have agreed on for over 75 years- Dreft makes your little one's fabric feel as clean and soft as can be.

As I ring in the new year, I can't help but look at 2013 and its many highs and lows.  One of the major highs was being told by my oncologists in June 2013 that I was in remission after having had clean scans for 5 years from stage 2 cancer.  It was a long road, but one that made me slow down and take a look at what mattered most in my life, and use my time left on this Earth more wisely.  And, I am loving being able to stay home and watch my two "miracle babies" grow.  I have to pinch myself, as I can't believe that Savannah is already 3 1/2 yrs. old, and Arabella recently celebrated her 2nd birthday in November.

Boy, time does fly by -- especially when you have little ones.

We have a wall full of canvas prints of the girls from birth through their recent birthdays.  I can't help but look at them daily as I walk in and out of the living room.  And, each and every time, I can't get over how fast they have grown.  I also feel a little sad knowing that they are no longer babies, and are becoming more and more independent.  Now, Savannah is talking in full sentences, and telling us what she wants, as Bella is quickly trying to catch up to her.  Oh, how I wish I could stop time just for a little bit and enjoy their little fingers and toes. :-)  But, time goes on, and everyone gets older, including us parents.  While I am still waiting for the night that we don't get up in the night for milk or diaper change, I was reminded the other day to enjoy this time, as when they get older and become teenagers, you will worry about them more and wonder where they are and who they are with.  I can't imagine dealing with the teen years. Eeek.

Just the other day I found a bag of the girls' 3-6 months old clothing. I couldn't believe how tiny they were.  Now, I am washing and putting away 3T and 4T clothing -- a big difference.  While I sometimes think about what it would be like to have another baby, I am too busy taking care of the girls, who are now in the terrible 2's and 3's stages.  I can see why people have children in their 20's, as you really get tired in your 30's taking care of them, and dealing with lack of consistent sleep.  But, I know that the baby chapter in our life is closed, and that means to start donating all the clothes we saved, but that is now taking up room in our already overcrowded house.  So, as I wash the girls baby clothes one finally time and decide which clothes to save, to show them when they get older, I will be reaching for Dreft detergent, which I have used since we brought both of them home from the hospital in 2010 and 2011. Just yesterday, when I took a load of their baby clothes out of the dryer, I couldn't help but clutch a bunch of the clothes close to me.  As I stood there holding the clothes up to my nose,  I swear I could smell the "new baby smell" that you smell with newborns, and memories of holding my girls for the first time and looking into their eyes, only to have them look back at me, came rushing back. Memories like these are ones I will treasure, as I watch my girls grow.

While I could be using another detergent, I have to admit that I love the baby fresh scent that Dreft leaves the girls' clothing smelling.  And, I have yet to find another detergent that is not only gentle on their sensitive skin, but also keeps their clothes looking clean and bright.  Whenever I find myself attending a baby shower, or giving a gift to an expectant mom, I make a point to include a bottle of Dreft detergent with the gift, as I know the new mommy will love this detergent if they have not already been introduced to it.

So, if you are a new or expectant mom or know someone who is, make sure you stock up on Dreft detergent to wash and preserve your little ones clothes. And, please enjoy every moment, even when you feel sleep deprived and they are fussing constantly, as it really does go by fast!  And, one famous celebrity couple is getting ready to welcome a new bundle of joy in the new year -- Danielle and Kevin Jonas.
