The Story of Christmas, Thomas Nelson

Synopsis:

"The true Christmas story in a package kids will love.

This board book is a wonderful way to introduce the miraculous story of Christmas to young hearts. Sweet, rhyming text and adorable illustrations will engage children as parents and grandparents read about the nativity story. The padded cover is a soft but durable format for little hands, and the “carry-me” handle makes it easy for kids to tote this book to bed, to church, in the car, and on-the-go."

My Thoughts:

This is my fourth book from Tommy Nelson that has a handle attached to the book, making it easy for little ones to tote it around wherever they go.  And, this is one book that has been getting a lot of reading time, as the girls are getting excited about Christmas.  But, I don't want them to think that Christmas is just about Santa and getting gifts.  Instead, I have been sharing the true meaning of Christmas.  Savannah has started to grasp the true meaning of Christmas, thanks to this cute cute board, Arabella now is starting to understand it.  I know this, as my mom asked her why we celebrate Christmas the other day, and Arabella said "Christmas the birthday of the Christ child, Jesus -- the son of God."  Savannah then chimed in that we celebrate his birth, and how the three wise men brought gifts, and how everyone all around the world celebrated this joyous day -- now what we call Christmas. :-)  It is nice to see that the girls are understanding the true meaning of the holidays, and can talk about it when asked by others.

And, now they have this cute padded board book to bring with them to Nana and Papa's or to read in the call, during our holiday trips to visit with family and friends.  If you have little ones, this would make a great stocking stuffer gift, or book to share as we all count down the final days until Christmas, and the birth of Jesus.
