Kids say the darnedest things...Last night when my husband arrived home from work, he asked Savannah, like he always does, how her day was.  The first thing out of her mouth was that it was "a good mail day."  He asked why, and see said, "Because Santa sent me a new Ariel doll while he is working hard at the North Pole making my other Christmas toys."  :-)  I had to quickly remind Savannah that the My First Disney Princess Under the Sea Surprise Doll was sent for both her and Arabella to play with and share.  Note:  They are still working hard on sharing their toys.

While Arabella slept, Savannah got some extra play time in with Ariel, and couldn't stop cuddling and smiling with her.  Included with the Ariel doll is a seahorse comb to brush her hair, as well as Flounder toy that when played with in water, squirts water out of its mouth.

What makes the My First Disney Princess Under the Sea Surprise Ariel doll a hit with Little Mermaid fans is that when you push the seashell necklace around her neck, she sings and speaks 15 phrases.  In addition to the sound feature, Ariel's tail also lights up.  This light up feature is seen both out of water, and makes for a fun water light show when you submerge Ariel's fin into shallow water.  Only dip the fin in water - if you submerge it fully into the water, it can break, due to the fact that it takes batteries and has a battery compartment.  And, for this reason, I would suggest the doll for older children, who know how far to dip in the fin in water, or surprise younger fans by providing a bowl of water, or shallow water level in bathtub for bathtub fun.

And, while the My First Disney Princess Under the sea Surprise Ariel doll from Tollytots comes with batteries, you will need to replace them not only for a better playtime experience, but also because this doll comes with a demo or play mode.  So, you will want to switch to play mode to fully experience all the features of the Under the Sea Surprise doll.

Another fun feature of this doll is that it speaks both English and Spanish phrases.  Simply push the button on the back of Ariel's neck to switch between the two languages.  I was a little disappointed to see that in the Spanish mode, Ariel didn't sing the song in Spanish, to keep with the all-Spanish mode.  But, that is just me. :-)

Overall, I have to say that both my girls love this on land and in water Ariel doll, especially because she sings part of a song from the hit Little Mermaid movie, which they can't get enough of.  If you have a Little Mermaid fan in your house, this doll from Tollytots would make the perfect gift to surprise them with this holiday season.  And, it will provide hours of dry and in-the-water fun.  Now to just pick up another one, as the girls don't want to share this Ariel doll.  Ahh, the joys of sisters. :-)
