My Thoughts:

This past Mother's Day I ended up spending the evening watching chick flicks with my mom.  What a great time we had, as it reminded us both of when I was little and my dad would take my two brothers to the movies for the night, and leave my mom and I home to have a pampering party.  We would paint our nails, and my mom would be brave enough to have me pretend I was a makeup artist and hair stylist and give her a new look.  If only I had taken photos of my caked out, wild looks of my mom. :-)  She was such a good sport.  And, I can't wait until I can create memories like this with my daughters. :-)

So, as I started thinking about and planning for Father's Day this weekend, I wondered what unique one-on-one activity I could do with my dad.  Then, it hit me...why not do another movie night?  I remember growing up being introduced to wrestling by my dad.  Unfortunately, my two brothers didn't like this so-call pretend wrestling, so my dad and I formed a unique bond while watching weekly WWF shows and going to wrestling matches.  I remember we used to plan a night of pizza and ice cream whenever there was a pay per view Wrestlemania or other WWF event on television.  Oh, how I loved those days, and the time spent with my dad talking about the different wrestlers and their flashy entrances. :-)

While my dad doesn't watch wrestling as much now, he does enjoy watching movies with wrestling stars in them.  I told him recently about 12 Rounds 2: Reloaded, which stars WWE Superstar Randy Orton.  He hadn't seen the previews or knew of the WWE Superstar, but said it would be a movie he would like to watch.  I didn't tell him that I had received a review copy until he came to visit the past two days and stayed over.  I was having work done on the house, and loved how he was able to come down and help watch the girls and be there if the contractors had questions.

Last night, once the girls were fast asleep in bed, I put the movie on for my dad, husband and I to watch.  My husband is not usually a fan of these types of movies, as he would prefer to see popular sports stars like The Rock in a film.  Knowing this, I was surprised to see him sick through the entire movie.  And, once the movie ended, he and my dad began talking about how great this action packed film was, and how they wanted to see it again. :-)  But, before they would watch 12 Rounds 2: Reloaded, they both agreed that they had to rent the first 12 Rounds film in this action thriller franchise.  They were both surprised that they hadn't heard about 12 Rounds previously, but were hooked with this recent installment, now available on DVD and Blu-Ray.

From the moment the movie began, we were all pulled in.  We found ourselves on the edge of our seats at times wondering what would happen next.  I like movies that make you think one thing is going to happen, and then the movie flips and something else happens.  Well, this is what you get with this movie.  :-)  Oh, I almost forgot to mention about the bonus features that make up this new release, which include extra features including three making-of featurettes, audio commentary and more.  We had a blast watching each of the featurettes  after the movie was over.  It really added to the overall excitement for this popular franchise installment.

So, if you dad is anything like mine and loves wrestling or action packed films starring wrestlers, why not surprise him with a copy of 12 Rounds 2: Reloaded on either DVD or Blu-ray?  Or, pick up a copy and invite Dad over for a cookout, followed by movie night? However you choose to share this new release with your dad, just know it will be great time spent viewing this action packed film. :-)  I know as my dad and I (and husband) had a blast watching it together.
