My Thoughts:

Can you believe that the popular series, "Chicken Soup for the Soul" will be celebrating 20 years in print next month?  When I read this, I thought, "Wow, I am old," as I remember reading these books at a teen and loving them.  I found inspiration and hope on various topics, by reading heartfelt stories of others.  And, I continued to pursue my love of writing when I went on to get a minor in English in college, and then again in 2009 when I began my blog.  Prior to starting my blog, I would journal, like so many others do.  Journaling for me is a way to relax, and get my thoughts and feelings down on paper.  And, during my cancer treatment in 2008, journaling helped me get through the darkest of days.

In addition to finding out that the Chicken Soup for the Soul series is celebrating 20 years in print, I was also surprised to learn that the acclaimed motivational speaker, Jack Canfield, along with Mark Victor Hansen, endured years of rejection before finding someone to publish their first volume in the popular inspirational series, which went on to become a #1 New York Times bestseller.  Just learning about this fact provided me with inspiration as a writer.  Even if you are not a writer, or looking to be published, you will enjoy this recent release, as it shares 101 stories of inspiration from writers, and how they pursued their dream of writing, and didn't give up when it came to pushing to get their work published, overcame writer's block, endured setback after setback until finally finding success, along with sharing some great tips about finding time to write, discovering ways to get published, and even finding inspiration to write.

Like most Chicken Soup for the Soul books, I found myself not being able to put this book down, and ended up finishing it in one sitting this past weekend.  As I read each and every story, I found myself marking up the pages of authors I wanted to check out their work, after being moved by the inspirational stories.  And, by the time I reached the end of the book, I found a new spark that was lit inside me and made me eager to sit down at my computer and start writing more blog posts to share.  I even walked away with a better sense of what goes into getting published, and added this to my bucket list.

So, if you love to write, are looking to get published, or just want to learn about authors and their inspirational stories about writing and getting published, then you will want to pick up a copy of the recent release, "Chicken Soup for the Soul: Inspiration for Writers."  This book will definite motivate you to write more and get over writer's block (if you find yourself suffering from this), as well as inspire you to dream big and maybe want to see your work published one day.
