Deborah Elle Belts -- The Must-Have Accessory for Summer (and Year Round) That Will Bring Your Wardrobe to a Whole New Level -- Review

Disclosure: I was sent a sample from the vendor in order to write up an honest review.  The views shared are mine and mine alone.

Since becoming a mom in 2010 and again in 2011, I have slowly moved my business clothing to the back of the closet, as I transitioned into the stay-at-home/work-at-home mom role.  If you are a mom to little ones, then you know how hard it is to get dressed out of your pajamas on a daily basis, let alone try to accessorize an outfit.  I can't help but laugh when I get together for mommy and me meetups, as the one thing the moms and I always talk about is how we love all the new spring/summer fashions and what we would buy if we were still working to dress up our wardrobes.

In my little group of moms who meet on a weekly basis, to have the kids interact and play, while we dish about shows we finally got to watch, ways we got the kids to try new foods with new recipes, and our love for fashion. Yes, moms (even stay at home moms) love to dish about fish.  Now, I am not a fashionista by any means, but I love to stay-up-to date on the latest fashion, especially accessories.  I can't tell you how many handbags I own.  Back when I was working, I would buy a new handbag every month or so, and would watch my handbags/clutches with my outfits.  While other ladies preferred shoes, I was a handbag lady.  But, since welcoming the girls, my handbag purchases have been limited, as I have been using a diaper bag.  Don't get me started on diaper bag styles, as I have found it hard to find just the right bag that not only holds all the girls stuff, but also looks stylish.  I have a whole rack of diaper bags, but long for the day that I can back to carrying around a handbag. :-)

So, while I wait to give up the diaper bag, I have found a new fashion love -- belts.  Not just any belts, but ones that are versatile and can be paired with both casual and dressy clothes.  Like I said, I don't have the time to lay out clothes and decide what to wear on a daily basis.  I am lucky if I find an extra 15 minutes to do my hair and put on makeup. :-)  But, when I recently stumbled across Deborah Elle belts, that rush of excitement came back -- like what I would experience back in the day when I walked by a boutique window and saw a handbag, or flipped through a magazine and fell in loves with the current "it" bag.  Oh, how I longed to feel that spark of excitement again.  This line of women's belts are very versatile and can be worn with multiple articles of clothing, such as dresses, tunics, coats, etc. -- and, best of all can be worn all year long.  So, when Deborah Oshry, owner and designer of Deborah Elle belts reached out and offered to send me her double wrap patent leather double belt to review, I had to pinch myself.  Luckily I didn't have to wait long to receive the belt, as Deborah is based out of Boston (while the belts are made in NYC), and I am in CT -- so, within a day I had the double wrap patent leather double belt in my hands to try out.

"This double wrap patent belt is the perfect skinny belt for any woman.  This belt accentuates your waist to the fullest.  Available in black with eye-catching flecks of brown and grey.  This belt brings style to new heights."

As soon as I took the belt out of the packaging, I couldn't help but sit there and admire the beautiful design.  You can tell that Deborah puts a lot of time and effort in designing these sleek, stylish belts, all the way down to the belt buckle.  The belt arrived on my 'Mommy and Me" meetup day, so I was wearing a knit sweater and dark washed jeans.   I put on the belt, and instantly felt slimmer and younger, more stylish looking.  I can't believe that a belt can only bring an outfit to a whole new level of style, but can also make you feel good at the same time.  I walked into the meetup with more confidence and pep to my step.  And, when the other moms saw the belt, they got giddy, and fell in love with it.  I couldn't help but pass around the belt for the others to try out.  They each said that the double wrap patent leather double belt was beautiful, and loved how it looked on.  While some moms are still trying to lose the excess baby weight, the last thing they would plan to wear is a double wrap belt like this to cinch up the expanding waist/mid-section.  But, this belt really did compliment the outfit and didn't draw attention to the post-baby waists.  While your eyes were drawn to the double wrap patent leather double belt, that is all that you saw, as it added a nice sophistication to even the most casual of clothes.

I have yet to try out this belt with a dress, but plan to this upcoming weekend, when my husband and girls take me away for the weekend and we out to dinner.  Oh, how I am looking forward to strapping on my double wrap patent leather double belt from the Deborah Elle collection, and showing it off proudly, as I walk hand in hand with my daughters, to celebrate being a "Mom" - the best job of all. :-)

So, if you are looking to update your wardrobe for the summer, but don't know where to start or what to add, I would recommend whole heartedly a Deborah Elle belt.  This is one accessory that you will find yourself using on a daily/weekly basis, as it pairs well with both casual and dressy clothes.  And, once you put it one, you will love not only how it looks, but how it makes you feel.  You will realize that even though you are mom, and find yourself in sweatpants or loungewear most days, that finding the time to change into even just a nice shirt and jeans, and add a belt, will make you feel great.  :-)
