My Thoughts:

This was one movie I really wanted to see on the big screen, big missed. So, I knew that when it released recently, I would not be missing out on watching it at home.  Even though my daughters are to young to understand and really enjoy the film, we were able to have a fun family and friends movie day a few days ago, when school was cancelled due to snow.  Like I have said in the past, when there is a snow day, I usually end up watching my nieces and nephews, who range in age from 6-12 yrs. old.  But, on this given day, I thought it would be fun to invite a few neighbors and their children over to watch Rise of the Guardians.  Some saw the movies in theaters and loved it, while others were like me and were eagerly awaiting its arrival on DVD and Blu-Ray.

As everyone gathered in the living room, and found a good spot on the couch or floor, which was covered with pillows and sleeping bags, the popcorn was popping in the background, and juice and water were being poured.  Once everyone had their bags of popcorn and a drink, we were ready to play the movie. From start to finish, both the parents and childrens' eyes were glued to the television.  Not only was the animation of this DreamWorks Animation amazing, but the storyline itself was cute and kept everyone entertained.  Thankfully those who saw this movie in theaters didn't spoil the ending, which I was afraid of, as the kids who saw it previously couldn't stop talking about their favorite characters.

Once the movie was over, everyone clapped, and all agreed that Rise of the Guardians was a magical journey worth taking, and one that will have you talking about it for days later.  Like I said, even though my girls were too young to really enjoy this film, they did, however, get to play with movie swag that was sent to us.  Here are a handful of photos I took of the girls playing with the wind up eggs that come inside the DVD/Blu-Ray box, along with other goodies.

I ended up watching the bonus features with my husband that night, and especially loved the behind the scenes footage, as well as the Sandy’s Dream Guide, which is an interactive guide that helps explain your dreams.  The girls, on the other hand, loved playing the two games that make up the over 1 hour of bonus material, as well as the printable activities and coloring pages.  So, if you are looking for a great family-friendly movie to enjoy, or a fun Easter basket gift idea, why not consider picking up Rise on Guardians on DVD and/or Blu-ray today?  I know you will love this movie just as much as my family and friends did. :-)

Disclosure: I was sent a copy of this movie, along with a swag bag for my family to enjoy, from the vendor.  The views above are mine and mine alone.
