Also New From Veggie Tales -- A Very Veggie Easter Collection (Review)

A Very Veggie Easter Collection

Synopsis:

"Get ready for A Very Veggie Easter! Starring all of your favorite VeggieTales® characters, this special collection includes two Veggie Easter movies on DVD and two compilations of Easter and worship songs on CD, so you can celebrate wherever you are. Packed with music, laughs and lessons, A Very Veggie Easter Collection is a wonderful way to teach little ones about the importance of the Easter holiday.

'Twas the Night Before Easter (DVD - Run Time: 48 Minutes)

It's Easter time in Crisper County and cable news reporter Marlee Meade (Petunia Rhubarb) is hunting for a way to help others. On a tip that the old town theater will be shut down, Marlee cooks up a plan to save the stage and make a difference through the power of musical theater! With a cast of costume-clad townies, massive props and a 20-foot robot rabbit, "Up With Bunnies" is hatched! There's only one thing missing - the star of the show! When things go haywire, will it be curtains for Marlee's dreams - or will she discover the true meaning of Easter and what helping others is really all about?

An Easter Carol (DVD - Run Time: 49 Minutes)
When Ebenezer Nezzer sets out to revolutionize Easter with mechanical chickens and plastic eggs, it's up to valiant veggies Larry the Cucumber and Bob the Tomato - plus a music box angel named Hope (voiced by singer Rebecca St. James) - to teach him the true meaning of the holiday. "

My Thoughts:

Now that Valentine's Day has come and gone, either you are looking towards St. Patrick's Day or Easter, depending on which holidays you celebrate.  I am currently working to finalize my Easter Basket Gift Guide, which will run from March 1st - March 15th, and have some great gift ideas to share with you soon.  I dont' know about you, but I like getting into the holiday spirit by pulling our our holiday-themed DVDs to watch with the family.  In my opinion, I love the Easter and spring-themed animated movies we have are they are really bright and festive.  And, with the drab days of winter, it is nice to see all the beautiful colors pop off the screen from the decorated Easter eggs, flowers and characters. etc. And, in addition to family favorites we have enjoyed for years, it is always nice to add new Easter-themed movies to our collection. This is where Veggie Tales comes in.  They recently released "A Very Veggie Easter Collection", which contains their popular "Twas the Night Before Easter" and "An Easter Carol."  In addition to the two family-friendly movies, this collection also offers two of Veggie Tales' popular CDs, "“A Very Veggie Easter” and “Hosanna!”

My favorite part of this collection was the CDs as we were able to listen to them in the car together and not have to fight over who gets to listen to what. And, I have been a fan of Amy Grant for years, so it was nice to hear her singing on these CDs. :-)  As for the movies, the girls especially liked "An Easter Carol," which did an amazing job at teaching little ones about the true meaning of Easter, while introducing kids to a beautiful music box angel named Hope.

So, if you are looking to add to your Easter DVD/CD collection, why not pick up Veggie Tales: A Very Veggie Easter Collection today? It would also make for a great Easter basket gift idea. :-) I can see these two movies begin watched by families on Easter morning before you head off to church or gather with family for Easter dinner.

Disclosure: I was sent a sample from the vendor in order to write up an honest review.  The views above are mine and mine alone.
