While on their honeymoon in Paris, Rory and his wife Dora, played by Zoë Saldana (Colombiana), step inside an antique shop where they find a briefcase that will later reveal the key to the career he has always desired... but the find comes with a steep price.  This dramatic story within a story exposes the strong effects that life’s choices can have on us all. The Blu-ray and DVD both come with the Extended Special Edition of the film, featuring an alternate ending, as well as two featurettes: “Unabridged: A Look Behind the Scenes of The Words” provides an

My Thoughts:

Make sure if you are heading out on Christmas Eve to do last minute holiday shopping that you pick up a copy of this movie.  Or, for less stress, pre-order now online and have it delivered in time for the holidays.  I missed this movie when it was in theaters, but after seeing the previews, knew I had to see it once it arrived on DVD/Blu-Ray.  Not only am I a fan of Bradley Cooper from the Hanover movies, but I also love seeing Olivia Wilde, who starred in hit television series, House, as well as the recent release, Butter, in movies.  So, when I received a screener copy the other day, I told my husband I had to start the Christmas gift wrapping, and took this movie into the family room to watch, while I wrapped. :-)  Let's just say that I still have a lot of wrapping left, as this movie was so good, I couldn't help but stop and give my full attention to it.

From start to finish you are enthralled in this dramatic story, which centers around a briefcase Bradley Cooper's character, Rory Jansen finds, and how its contents can change his life forever, while also showing the ripple effects of the choices we make in life.  Rory ends up stealing and publishing another man's work, only to reach the success he longed for.  But, will he be found out, and if so, what will become of his success and path in life?  Truly an intriguing storyline, and the actors in the movie do an amazing job in creating suspense and drama, which keeps you glued to the screen.  This film is a romance, thriller and drama all rolled into one and worth picking up once it releases on Dec. 24th.

Disclosure: I was sent a copy of this DVD from the vendor in order to write up an honest review.  The views above are mine and mine alone.
