Now Available on Blu-Ray and DVD -- Arthur Christmas (Review)

Arthur Christmas (Two Discs: Blu-ray / DVD + UltraViolet Digital Copy)

I love it when animated movies have stars that I love lending their voices.  In the recent release, Arthur Christmas, which arrived on Blu-Ray and DVD on yesterday, Hugh Laurie (House), James McAvoy and Imelda Staunton are just a few of the actors that help bring the characters in this holiday film to life.

Did you ever wonder how Santa traveled all over the world in just one night?  I remember asking my parents this questions on numerous occasions. My mom would tell me that he had a magic clock that he used to stop time, allowing him to travel to all the continents in one night.  But, now with all the technological advances and high tech gadgets, I am guessing parents nowadays are telling their children other ways Santa gets the job done.  Have your children begun asking how Santa does it?  Well, this movie deals with just that.  We are introduced to Arthur, Santa's goofy looking youngest son/elf, whose job is to answer Santa's letters for him.  Arthur is different and is looked down upon by his older brother and the other elves. But, with Santa believing in him, that is all he needs to feel good.  That is, until Santa lets him down.  I am not going to tell you what Santa does -- you will have to watch the movie to find out.  But, as the movie progresses Arthur realizes what Christmas and the holidays are all about, and steps in to make sure a little girl gets her presents.  Does she find gifts under the tree?  Again, you will have to pick up this movie to find out. :-)  Ah, I am being a pain, huh?

Well, you will not be disappointed with this family friendly film that will have viewers young and old, learning about the true meaning of Christmas.  We had a blast laughing at this fun-filled movie, and will definitely be watching this holiday film again before the holidays, and for years to come.

Disclosure: I was sent a copy of this DVD from the vendor in order to write up an honest review.  The views above are mine and and mine alone.
