Say Goodbye to Dry, Irritated Scalps with Philip Kingsley No Scent No Colour Line (Review)

Healthy Hair is Beautiful Hair

I had originally requested samples of Philip Kingsley's baby line of products, but they didn't have any samples left.  So, they kindly sent samples of their No Scent No Colour shampoo and conditioner for me to review.  I wish I had known about this product sooner, as I have been dealing with a sensitive scalp since undergoing radiation and chemo treatment back in 2008.

Doctors never told me about the long term side effect nuscenses like a dry, irritated scalp.  It wasn't until recently that I read about more and more cancer patients and survivors or head and neck cancers (and other cancers) experiencing dry, itchy scalps.  Like others, I thought it was the shampoo and conditioning products I was using, and spent money and time just trying to find a brand that got my hair clean, but didn't aggravate it.  It wasn't until I tried PK No Scent No Colour shampoo and conditioner that I finally found relief.  I have been using these samples for over two weeks now and am loving how I don't have to scratch my head or notice a red, irritated scalp.  The direct sunlight on my scalp, I have found, made the irritation worse.  But, I have been out and about with the family, soaking the last few weeks of summer sun with them, and return home not having to tend to my scalp.

These products cater to people with sensitive skin or allergies to perfumes, etc., which are usually found in shampoos and conditioners on the market.  You don't have to be a cancer patient to enjoy and find relief with the PK hair care line.  Here is more about each, taken from the Philip Kingsley website:

Suitable for all hair types. No Scent No Colour was launched in September 2007 aimed at those with the most sensitive, delicate or easily irritated skin and scalps. Designed to answer the needs of the growing number of allergic and reactive skin types for whom fragrance and strong surfactants are not an option, it is fragrance, colour, SLS and paraban free. It is also formulated to be gentle enough for those undergoing chemo/radiation therapy.

If you know someone who is undergoing cancer treatment or has sensitive skin, why not tell them about the Philip Kingsley No Scent No Colour shampoo and conditioner line?  Like I said, I wish I had known about this awhile ago.  I recently went to a follow-up oncology appointment and asked the doctor and nurse if they had heard of this brand, and neither had -- which means, they were not recommending to patients like myself with sensitive, irritated scalps.  Now, I am aware of it, and can share with other cancer patients and survivors who suffer from this treatment side effect.  I am also loving how a portion of the sales of this brand goes towards the American Cancer Society's "Look Good...Feel Better" program, which share skin and beauty tips and tricks with cancer patients, as well as wig care, in hopes to boost their moods.  I hosted these classes at the hospital I worked several years ago, and enjoyed watching the women leave the class looking and feeling beautiful!
