Summary:

The Little Princess loves to win—and at home everyone usually lets her. At school, even though she tries her hardest, it seems she can't do anything right, but she soon discovers that winning is much more fun when she really deserves it!

My Thoughts:

I loved the lesson of this story, even if you don't win, you still win if you try your hardest.  Children (and adults) will enjoy reading along with this story, as the Little Princess sets out to win all the trophies her school is giving out.  After she fails to win each contest, only one trophy is left -- the TRYING THE HARDEST trophy.  With all that the Little Princess did to win the other trophies, she won this last trophy fair and square.  I loved the pen-and-ink and watercolor illustrations in this book, which tied the storyline and feelings of the Little Princess beautifully.

If you have a Little Princess in your house that always wants to win, why not pick up this book and share it with it?  It will help teach her that you cannot always win at things, but that if you try your hardest, you will always win!
