My Review:

I remember when Barney first aired on television.  I was babysitting our neighbor’s children and they happened to flip through the channels and leave it on Barney.  By the end of the show, we were all singing, “If You Are Happy And You Know It,” as well as the now popular, “I Love You, You Love Me..” song Barney and Friends is famous for.  And, now, over a decade later, this show is still as popular with the preschool audience as it was when it first aired.

Now that I have children of my own, I am finding myself watching Barney and Friends all over again.  And, with the catchy songs, mainly about friendship and having fun, I can’t help but enjoy watching the lovable purple dinosaur with Savannah.  I remember singing “If You Are Happy And You Know It” to her and watching her smile and clap along.  And, as a parent, I don’t have to worry about the content of the show, as I know it will provide both educational and fun adventures that my daughter will enjoy watching, like so many other kids do.

We make a point to watch Barney on either PBS or Sprout on a daily basis.  And, on those days when we miss it, I know I can reach for a DVD if my daughter wants to get her fix of the purple dinosaur.  Right now, Savannah is loving Baby Bop, so when I read about this DVD being released a few months back, I knew it was one that I would have to pick up and share with Savannah.  This DVD, like all the others we have seen, didn’t disappoint.  It was engaging, as it had my daughter dancing and singing, while she learned about friends and feelings.

So, if your children like watching Barney and Friends on television, why not pick up this new DVD release and share with them.  They will learn valuable lesson on friendship through fun adventures and sing-a-long.

Disclosure:  I was sent a copy of this DVD from the vendor in order to write up an honest review.  The views above are mine and mine alone.
