Tell us a little bit about yourself. How many children do you have? What are their ages? Your hobbies? Etc.

Hi: I am a physical therapist and a mom of three. I have two boys ages 7,6 and a girl who is 3. I enjoy cooking ,reading, playing tennis and exercising.

Briefly explain your business. How did it come about?

My business is a marriage of my background in physical therapy and as a mom. When all of my children were babies they disliked 'tummy time' (supervised playtimefor babies on their stomach) as do most babies. By the time I had my third baby, I thought there just had to be a better way to get babies to play on their stomach and not get so frustrated. And then, I had an ah hah moment.

What is a typical work day like?

Not very typical. I am still a full-time mom without any help- so I do 5 min. here on the computer, 5 min. there, take the kids with me to fed ex to drop off shipments, make phone calls when they are busy playing or watching TV.

What has been a struggle while starting up your company?

Trying to get the word out about Biddy Belly without funding to do it.

What did you do in your past work life?

I was a physical therapist.

What have been some of your major successes?

The product is doing well and has been published on many blogs and a few magazines despite the $0 adveritsing budget.

What have been some of your major challenges?

To continue to get the word out about the Biddy Belly.

On those impossible days, what motivates you to keep going?

When parents tell me that it really made a huge difference.

What is your balancing secret in managing a business and family?

I try and remember that this time with my kids will be gone quickly and that work can always wait to after they are asleep or before they wake up.

What is next for your business?

Hopefully, it will continue to do well and move into big box stores.

Do you have any advice for other mom entrepreneurs that are starting out and struggling, or are on the fence about starting a business?

I think you should pursue your dreams and give it a shot. Some people may think you are crazy, but you will never know and you wouldn't want to "what if" for the rest of your life, or worse yet, down the road have someone else come out with your idea and do really well.
