24 Days of Quiet: Why This Tea Advent Calendar from Adagio Teas is My Favorite Holiday "Me-Time" (Review)

Disclosure: I was sent samples from Adagio Teas in exchange for an honest review. All views shared are mine and mine alone.

Let’s be real for a second: As a mom, December is a marathon. Between the school holiday plays and concerts, shopping for everyone on your holiday shopping list (and yourself) and then gift wrapping and putting things together, cookie baking, and the endless to-do lists, the "most wonderful time of the year" is often the most exhausting. And it seems like as the years pass, December and the holidays inch up on us quickly.  As soon as you are done sorting the kids' Halloween candy, the holiday music starts to play on the radio and movies drop on the television, and all the stores begin to compete with the Pre-Pre-Black Friday deals.  For me, the month of November was a complete blur, and as I write this, I can't believe that next week after the craziness of Thanksgiving, we will be in December, and in a blink of an eye, Santa will be stopping by.

Every year, I promise myself I’ll slow down and savor the season, but every year, I find myself running on fumes by December 15th. But will this year be the year I find time for "me time"? Well, this year I found a loophole. I found a way to guarantee myself at least 15 minutes of absolute peace and "me time" every single day.  How you ask?

Enter the Adagio Teas 2025 Nutcracker Advent Calendar.

Hurry! The clock's ticking, to get your 2025 Tea Advent Calendar before December 1st. Or, if you are late to the game, these tea advent calendars will probably be available for a couple weeks into December, so you can still buy and just double up especially on those upcoming cold and snowy December nights.

Behind each of its 24 doors awaits a new tea to brighten your mornings. Available in loose, decaf, and teabag versions. Each advent calendar is only $34! That is cheaper than stopping at a nearby coffee shop to grab a tea each morning.  And, you get to enjoy this tea at home while you relax and enjoy quiet time.

I decided to treat myself to not just one, but two of these beauties this year, the Seasonal Loose Tea version for my mornings and the Decaf tea version for my evenings, and it has completely changed the rhythm of my holidays and is giving me something to look forward to besides moving the elves, making sure the holiday shopping is done and wrapped, etc.

First Impressions: A Holiday Decoration in Itself

The kind folks at Adagio Teas kindly sent me the loose tea and decaf tea advent calendars to review, as I reached out back in October to tell them how much my girlfriends enjoy these tea calendars and how I would love to see what I was missing.  When the package arrived, I honestly didn't want to open the tea advent calendars, as the boxes themselves were too pretty to ruin.  The design this year is a stunning, deep blue box featuring a whimsical Nutcracker surrounded by glowing string lights.  But, like I said, my girlfriends have been enjoying these tea advents for years and love sampling new tea flavors when they pencil in morning or evening tea-time for themselves. The design this year is a stunning, deep blue box featuring a whimsical Nutcracker surrounded by glowing string lights.  I made room next to my girls' chocolate advent calendars and am excited to count down to Christmas with them, with my very own advent calendar. I can't remember the last time I had my own advent calendar, so it really will be a fun treat this year, to break up the craziness of the holidays and make time just for me, to sit, relax and take a breath, and truly appreciate this time of year.

The Morning Ritual: Seasonal Surprises

I will not lie, I did go ahead and start with day 1 of the loose-leaf tea advent calendar, as I wanted to get a feel of what I would be in for each day, and also be able to share this post, having sampled a day in advance. First up for December 1st is a caramel creme brulee tea, which I had never tried before and was excited to see what it tasted like. If you’ve never used loose leaf tea before, don't be intimidated as the loose-leaf tea itself is part of the charm. There is something so grounding about taking a moment to scoop the leaves into my infuser ball and watching them unfurl in the hot water for a few minutes.  The smell alone will wake you up in the morning and help you feel relaxed and grounded for the day.

The flavors for this year's Adagio Teas advent calendars are exactly what you want Christmas to taste like. I’m talking blends that taste like Cranberry Cream, Reindeer Fuel, and Candy Cane, just to name a few. It’s like a warm hug in a mug before the chaos of the school run begins. This "me time" tea-time is a little moment of luxury that tells my brain, "Okay, we can handle today."

The Evening Wind-Down: Caffeine-Free Calm

Like I mentioned, I also received Adagio Tea's decaf tea advent calendar, too, which contain some amazing flavors like honeybush banana nut tea, which you will find under the December 1st tab of the advent calendar.  I plan to save this calendar for the evenings, specifically for those late nights when the house is finally quiet. After the kids are in bed and the dishwasher is running, I plan to open a door on the herbal calendar as I wind down my day, and enjoy the peace and quiet, and maybe watch a holiday movie, too.

Knowing I can enjoy a rich, flavorful cup of Rooibos Nutcracker or Yuletide Toddy without worrying about being up all night is a blessing. It is something I am really looking forward to, as December approaches.  It will be just me, my cozy blanket, the twinkling tree lights, and a hot cup of tea, thanks to the folks at Adagio Teas.

Why It’s The Perfect Gift (For You or a Friend)

If you’re looking for a gift for a tea lover, this is a no-brainer. But honestly? I’m recommending this as a gift to yourself.  Come on, when was the last time you actually treated yourself to something, or had a few moments to yourself to enjoy a hot cup of tea that you haven't been rewarming in the microwave all throughout the day?

As moms, we are constantly making magic for everyone else. We buy the toy advent calendars for the kids, we move the Elf on the Shelf, we make the magic happen. This calendar is a reminder that we deserve a little magic, too!
