VeggieTales: Noah's Ark Arrives on DVD on March 3rd -- Pre-order your copy now -- OR Enter to #Win It Here! 24 Hour Flash Giveaway #Giveaway

Disclosure:  I was sent a review copy from the vendor in order to write up an honest review.  All views shared are mine and mine alone.

You probably know the beloved Bible story of Noah's Ark?  But have you seen it come to life with a bunch of vegetables?  Thanks to the upcoming VeggieTales: Noah's Ark DVD release on March 3rd you can. :-)  And, if seeing everyone's favorite VeggieTales characters like Larry and Bob aren't enough, you will find yourself singing along to some catchy new songs that will have you tapping your feet and singing along to.

My family loves VeggieTales movies are they are a great way to teach the girls about God and the Bible in a fun and entertaining way.  Because they can't read yet, we rely on faith based movies like these share the messages of the Bible in this way.  And, we find that after we watch one of these movies, the girls are full of questions, as well as commenting on how much fun the stories were and how they can't wait to watch it again.  This was the same with this upcoming release.  We have only had it for about a week now, but have already watched it half a dozen times.

When it came to talking to the girls about the movie and what was shared, we found ourselves talking about how plans we sometime make plans for ourselves only to find something else happens.  This is God showing us in his own way that he had other plans (oftentimes better) for us.  In addition, we talked about dealing with personal struggles or difficult times and how they will not last forever, even though at that moment you may not see an end in sight.  Through this cute story, we were able to show how God is always by our side and looking out for us.  We have to trust in God and know that he will help guide us and get us through even the toughest of times.

There are some many great discussions families can have together after watching this and other VeggieTales movies. And, depending on your child's age, you can bring the Bible into the discussions.  This movie really does tie the following Psalm to the Noah's Ark story perfectly:

“Trust in Him at
all times, you
people; pour out
your hearts
before Him. God
is our refuge” (Psalm

By trusting God, you will find that he will look out for you and help you through even the toughest of times.  I am so happy I was able to share the story of Noah's Ark through the telling of the VeggieTales characters.  Now, whenever my girls see an arc or boat they are quick to tell my husband and I about the different animals Noah and his family had on board.

If your family is a fan of VeggieTales and has a growing collection like my family, then you will want to pick up a copy of VeggieTales: Noah's Ark when it arrives on DVD on March 3rd.  This is definitely one re-telling of Noah's Ark that you family will not want to miss. :-)

More about this movie:

Carrots meet cubits as VeggieTales builds an ark filled with fun, adventure and important lessons about trusting God in NOAH’S ARK, its first Bible-themed production in more than four years. Starring Wayne Brady and Jaci Velasquez, along with Larry the Cucumber, Bob the Tomato and a whole crew of Veggies, NOAH’S ARK will be available March 3 on DVD and digital download.

In NOAH'S ARK, Brady, the multi-Emmy® award-winning host of one of TV’s most famous game shows, Let’s Make a Deal, and star of Whose Line Is It Anyway, brings to life Noah’s son Shem, who first questions, then learns to embrace, his father’s direction from God. Christian singer, actress and radio host Jaci Velasquez co-stars as Shem’s wife, Sadie.

“Saying ‘yes’ to VeggieTales was a no-brainer – my daughter’s a fan and I love the music and messages,” says Brady, who performs seven original songs in NOAH’S ARK. “The best part is, Bob and Larry are down to earth and they never let the ‘I’m a global Veggie superstar’ thing go to their heads.”

Adds Velasquez: “Every parent searches for entertainment that’s both wholesome and imparts valuable life lessons, and with Noah’s Ark,VeggieTales serves up a delicious dish on both counts. The story, the music and the visuals are perfect for the entire family.”

In NOAH’S ARK, Shem and Sadie return home from their honeymoon to find that Noah (played by Pa Grape) has begun, at God’s direction, to work on a massive ark, which his wife Naamah (played by Madame Blueberry) and sons Ham (played by Larry) and Japheth (played by Bob) are helping construct before the start of 40 days and 40 nights of rain.

But Shem doesn’t understand Noah’s unshakable faith in God, particularly when animals start arriving two-by-two – while the rain is nowhere to be seen. When the deluge does come, Shem begins to understand Noah’s determination to preserve humanity’s future … and the importance of trusting in God.

NOAH’S ARK also features a brand-new “Silly Songs With Larry” segment, in which Larry dons a safari outfit as he goes on a quest for a gigantic, golden egg.

Less than three weeks after the DVD and digital download release of NOAH’S ARK, the VeggieTales excitement continues when five all-new episodes of VeggieTales In The House, the hit animated series, debut exclusively on Netflix – bringing the total of VeggieTales In the House episodes to 15 as the series continues its first season.

To learn more about NOAH’S ARK, and to pre-order the DVD, visit the official VeggieTales website at, or call the toll-free VeggieTales Hotline at (844) 2-VEGGIE (U.S. callers only)."

What to Watch on TV Tonight -- 'CESAR 911' SEASON 2 TO PREMIERES TONIGHT ON NAT GEO WILD #Giveaway #Cesar911

Are you a fan of Cesar Millan, AKA the Dog Whisperer?  My husband and I are fans of Cesar and have been since he came on the scene years ago.  We ever thought about calling him for our rescue dog Manny, who had aggressive issues and couldn't be around others, until he passed a few back.

I am always amazed at Cesar and how he can rehabilitate animals and can talk to them in a calming manner.  Some of the dogs I have seen on his hit Nat Geo WILD series, Cesar 911 would scare me, but Cesar is always so calm and collective around them, and really helps the owners with their behavioral pet issues.

My husband and I will be tuning in tonight at 9/8C when season 2 of Cesar 911 kicks off on Nat Geo WILD?  Will you?

Hear is more about the hit series, Cesar 911, including what is store for upcoming episodes - and read on to learn about my fun Cesar Millan giveaway that you will want to enter, too!...

"Last year, Cesar Millan proved once again that he is the leader of the pack when it comes to rehabilitating dogs and training people, with the successful launch of his new Nat Geo WILD series, Cesar 911. The series returns on Friday, Feb. 27, at 9/8c.

Each week on Cesar 911, Millan travels to a new neighborhood in desperate need of his help. He is summoned by co-workers, relatives, friends and neighbors who “blow the whistle” on a four-legged menace that has turned their lives upside down. Right from the start, the stakes are higher than ever for the dogs, owners and communities Millan is brought in to assist. The dog owners he encounters are stressed out, nervous, terrified at times, and feel out of control. Each episode, Millan packs in practical tips and valuable insights to help loyal fans and new viewers alike.

Often, the cases this season warrant Millan taking both dogs and owners to his Dog Psychology Center, a 45-acre facility in the hills outside Los Angeles, where he can utilize his pack of balanced dogs to socialize with the problem dogs and exercise the dogs using a special pool and long pack walks. Millan interacts very closely with the owners, teaching them how to handle and correct their dogs’ problem behaviors. When needed, he also works with the dogs and owners in his home training annex, where he can help them overcome issues that occur in common living areas like the bedroom, kitchen and living room.

After a period of rehabilitation, Millan gives the owners homework assignments — challenges to master their leadership over their dog. At the end of each episode of Cesar 911, the owners rejoin Millan to review surveillance footage of how they handled their dog in the homework assignments. Millan tells the owners what they did correctly and what they can continue to improve. He then offers some final words of encouragement and thoughts about his experience working on their case. The families are now equipped with the knowledge and tools that only Cesar Millan can provide!

Cesar 911 Season Two Episodes Include:
Cesar 911: 3 Bites, You’re Out!

Since then, Junior has bitten two people, including one of Leslie’s current neighbors. If Cesar can’t help rehabilitate Junior, Leslie fears the dog could be euthanized. Cesar’s next case concerns two sisters, Taylor and Morgan, whose relationship is in jeopardy over a dog. Taylor’s Maltese mix, Chloe, seems to have it in for her sister! She growls at Morgan and bites her any chance she gets. Morgan is pregnant with her first child, and if Cesar can’t help Taylor control Chloe, Morgan won’t let her sister and Chloe near her baby.

Cesar 911: Kicked to the Curb
Premieres Friday, March 6, at 9/8c

Cesar tries having Ron do a pack walk to increase his confidence.

Cesar rushes to the aid of Ron, whose family has stopped inviting him over for their parties because of his aggressive German shepherd, Savannah. Savannah has lunged at various members of Ron’s family, ruining several birthdays, holidays, barbecues and anniversaries. It’s up to Cesar to save Ron and Savannah from spending all future holidays alone. Cesar’s next call comes from Mandy, whose neighbors, Emily and Jay, have two pesky pooches that are destroying the harmony of their pet-friendly apartment complex. This devilish duo barks incessantly and attacks any dogs they see in the hallways. The residents of the building have had it with the loud and erratic behavior. If Cesar can’t train these troublesome tykes, Mandy plans to launch a campaign to get the couple evicted!

Cesar 911: Loaded Gunny
Premieres Friday, March 13, at 9/8c

Case File: Gunny and Bastian

The McKendricks are on the verge of divorce over their American bulldog, Gunny. When he turned 2, Gunny became a terror. The family owns a horse training facility and Gunny now attacks anything that moves, including dogs, small children and even horses. Worse yet, Gunny has attacked the McKendricks’ toddler, Dorian, and sent him to the hospital. Jim is terrified that Gunny will one day seriously injure Dorian and demands that the couple get rid of the dog or put him down. But Joy refuses. She believes Gunny can be rehabilitated. In fact, she’s told Jim that if he gets rid of Gunny, she’ll get rid of him. It’s up to Cesar to correct Gunny’s behavior. Otherwise the McKendricks are headed trouble.

Disclosure:  I was sent a screener copy from the vendor in order to write up an honest review.  All views shared are mine and mine alone.

Leapfrog: Amazing Word Explorers

Ever since my girls started crawling, I have made a point to pick up LeapFrog toys for them. Not only were they fun to play with, but they were also educational.  And, then, as they have grown, we have added fun DVDs and educational games to the mix, thanks to LeapFrog.  I have lost count on how many LeapFrog DVDs we own.  But, I do know how much they have helped both Savannah and Arabella learn things like their ABC's and counting.  And, now that Savannah is moving into Kindergarten in the Fall and Bella will be starting preschool at the same time, I have found myself reaching for these DVDs, especially on snow days, or when they are not feeling well and laying around, to provide viewing enjoyment while also teaching them new things at the same time.  Who says you can't have fun, while also learning at the same time?  And, with LeapFrog and their growing collection of toys, games and DVDS, learning is made fun -- especially in our house.

Recently, we had the opportunity to review LeapFrog Letter Factory Adventures: Amazing Word Explorers with the girls.  This Dove Approved DVD was a great teaching tool and enforcing of things we have been working with the girls on including word and letter recognition, word building and rhyming.  Next week we will be dedicating the week to celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday and rhyming is big on our learning agenda.  So, it was to have these animated stories to share with the girls, as a way to get them excited about rhyming.

If you have little ones who are fans of LeapFrog and their cast of characters which include Tad, Lily Leap and others, and are looking for a great way to teach them about words, story structure, rhyming in more, then you will want to pick up this DVD when it hits store shelves next Tuesday.

Savannah has already asked if she can bring this DVD to share with her preschool class, who is also learning about word building and rhyming.  In addition to the fun animated stories that make up this upcoming DVD release, little ones will also enjoy the cute sing-alongs that make up the bonus feature of this DVD.

Disclosure:  I was sent a screener copy from the vendor in order to write up an honest review. All views shared are mine and mine alone.

Julius Jr. Pirates & Superheroes

My girls were so excited to receive and help me review the December 2014 release, Julius Jr Snow Monkey Adventures, that I knew they would be over the moon excited when they saw  Julius Jr.: Pirates and Superheroes arrive on our doorstep --- and, they were.  If you have little ones who watch Nick Jr., then you have probably sat through an episode of Julius Jr.  I have lost count of how many episodes I have watched (over and over again).  But, I don't mind, as this hit animated series is really cute, and perfect for fans young and old of Paul Frank's lovable characters, including Julius Jr.

This recent DVD release includes six already aired full length episodes.  Each episode is not only fun to watch, but also teaches little ones about things like teamwork, importance of friendship and using your imagination.  Julius Jr. and his pals will whisk your child away on fun music-filled adventures that center around superheroes and super powers in these six episodes.  As soon as my girls saw which episodes where included on this recent DVD, they were quick to grab their superhero capes and masks and flew all around the living room, acting out scenes to the show, as they watched these episodes.

This is definitely one show I don't mind my girls watching over and over again, as it really peaks this imagination and has them excited about exploring and pretending.  Even if your child has never seen this animated series, this is one DVD you'll want to add to your child's collection, or even pick up to add to their Easter baskets, as it will provide hours of viewing enjoyment for years to come.

Barbie in Princess Power Flies Into Stores on DVD and Blu-ray Next Tuesday, March 3rd (Review)

Disclosure:  This is a sponsored post on behalf of Womensforum and Mattel. However, all views shared are mine.
What were you doing this past weekend?  If you live on the East Coast, around the New England area like me, then you were digging out yet again from another snowstorm.
It seems every time we think we will have an easy winter, and there’s no snow real snow until mid-January. Then, we get clobbered.
I have lost count of how many inches we have received - well over 3 feet here in Connecticut! My parents who live in Massachusetts have over 50 inches and are struggling like many to find a place to put all this snow.  Yet with the snow comes snow days, which means the kids are home with nothing do, after they are done playing outside of course.
A few weeks ago, in addition to hosting family and friends for a “Pal'entine's Day” party on Saturday, we also used this time to screen a movie with the kids, Barbie in Princess Power.
The movie is set to release on DVD and Blu-ray this spring, and you can get it here:

Here is more about the movie to give you sense of what you will see...

“Barbie stars as Kara, a modern-day princess with an everyday life. Both of my girls are huge Barbie fans. Bella, especially loved Barbie: Life in the Dream House and watches it almost every day. Whenever a new Barbie hits movie theaters or arrives on DVD, the girls are in the know and already asking to see it. While I myself grew up playing with Barbie dolls and have even been able to share my collection with my girls, I don't remember watching Barbie movies until I welcomed my girls. I love being able to relive my childhood with them and also see them get excited about toys I used to play with, including Barbie!
When I told my girls that we would be hosting a viewing party to watch this upcoming release, they were over the moon excited. Santa had surprised them at Christmas with the Barbie Super Hero dolls, as well as superhero capes with their initial on the back, so that they too could dress up and pretend to fight crime and rescue people in need -- just like Kara (AKA Super Sparkle) does in this movie.

I hadn't heard about the Barbie in Princess Power movie until recently, when I was asked if I wanted to screen with my girls. I knew that they would be excited to help, and was thrilled when I was given access to watch online with them.
Watching “Barbie in Princess Power” for the second time
So, this weekend, with a house full of kids, we held a screening of Barbie in Princess Power. Within the first few minutes of the movie, the kids were hooked and couldn't move from the television. In the opening scenes, we see Kara flying through the air using a device her two friends created. The kids thought this was the coolest thing, and wished they could fly just like Kara. Then, as the movie progressed, they saw Kara get kissed by a butterfly who transferred magic super hero powers to her.

So… how did the butterfly get superhero powers to start? Prior to becoming a butterfly, it was a caterpillar that had walked through a sewer opening where a magic potion had ben spilled on accident by the king’s assistant, Baron Von Ravendale. He was trying to create a magic potion that he could drink to give him the super powers so that he could claim the throne, which he felt was his.

Thanks to his clumsy and hungry frog, the potion was knocked over and spilled out… leading to the caterpillar walking through it, then emerging into the open sky and becoming a beautiful butterfly with magic powers!

We don't learn of the super hero powers that Kara has, besides being able to fly, until she and her two friends gather in her room to talk. Then, we see what Kara can do, and this is where the real story begins! Kara's superhero powers include being able to fly, lift heavy objects, and make a fireball as well as other cool superhero actions. She wants to put her super powers to good use and sets out to look over the kingdom and its people. Whenever she learns of trouble or someone needing her help, she flies into action and saves the day.
But, you can't have a good super hero movie without a villain or arch nemesis, right?  This movie has both - Baron Von Ravendale, who is plotting to take over the throne and get rid of Kara's family and Princess Corinne, Kara's jealous cousin.
Princess Corinne learns of Kara's secret identity and seeks out the magically butterfly and has it kiss her, turning her into Dark Sparkle. Dark Sparkle wants to have the attention on her and not Kara/Super Sparkle.  When there is a crime or rescue that needs to be made, both Dark Sparkle and Super Sparkle show up.  But, then they fight to claim the spotlight for themselves, forgetting to put the people they are protecting first.
The kids really liked this rivalry in the movie between Dark Sparkle and Super Sparkle and couldn't wait to see how it played out, and if they would put their differences aside to take on the evil Baron Von Ravendale, together. I don't want to spoil the ending, as it really is good, and will have you on the edge of your seat, rooting on Kara to save her family and protect the kingdom.
I will say, however, that the film’s message of family and friendship shines through and is so important for kids to watch. The two princesses learn about the importance of teamwork and not losing sight of goals. For example, in the beginning of the movie Kara wanted to do good by creating a community garden. Yet she lost the drive to do so when she found herself with super powers. She also drifted apart from her two close friends, and they felt this distance and were hurt.

As a parent, I love how the movie ends with sharing the lessons learned by Kara and her cousin and them admitting where they went astray. Both girls learned from their poor behaviors and determined that they would improve and not let these things happen again. What a positive messages for kids of all ages viewing this movie to take away and apply to their own lives!
Everyone who saw this movie at our house this weekend loved it, especially my two superheroes. We even watched it for a second time and can't wait to own it on DVD so that we can add it to our growing Barbie movie collection.
Barbie in Princess Power will have your children wanting to dress up as superheroes and pretending to have super powers just like Kara. I know this to be true as my girls fought with me the past two nights to change out of their superhero costumes to pajamas… as they wanted to be ready to fight crime and rescue those in need, even in their dreams.

If your child is a fan of Barbie or fun superhero movies, then you will want to make a point to watch Barbie in Princess Power when it arrives on Blu-ray and DVD on March 3rd.  We really had a blast screening this movie, and I have to admit, I loved it, too!  The scenes were colorful and full of fun, and you couldn’t help but wish you had super powers like Kara.  Oh, what I would do if I could fly!
I can’t wait to hear what you and your kids think of this new Barbie movie. It is filled with action and adventure and will have you and your kids wanting to watch it over and over again. It is that good!
