Disclosure: I was provided with a screener from the vendor in exchange for an honest review. All views shared are mine and mine alone.

Today is the day many people have been waiting for...the release of Ralph Breaks the Internet, on Blu-Ray, and DVD Combo.  Even though it released onto back on Feb. 12, many families, like mine, like to have family movies like this on Blu-ray or DVD, so that we can bring along in the car for kids to watch, or send with kids to sleepovers with the grandparents, etc.  I have have a few friends who are planning a slumber camp out in their back yards and want to project this onto their outdoor movie screens for the neighborhood kids to enjoy.

Even if you saw Ralph Breaks the Internet at the movies, it is one of those movies you will want to own to watch time and again.  I know for our family, we had been waiting a long time for the release of this second installment in the ever so popular Wreck it Ralph movie franchise from Disney..

Here is more about the movie, in case you have been living under a rock and didn't know about it... :-)

"Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Ralph Breaks the Internet,” the animated adventure featuring video-game bad guy Ralph (voice of John C. Reilly) and fellow misfit Vanellope von Schweetz (voice of Sarah Silverman), raced to No. 1 opening weekend (the second biggest Thanksgiving opening of all time), winning the top spot at the domestic box office for three consistent weeks and grossing more than $435.1 million to date. In the hilarious, highspeed sequel to 2012’s Oscar®-nominated “Wreck-It Ralph,” the besties risk it all by traveling to the expansive, fast-paced world of the internet in an action-packed attempt to save Vanellope’s game Sugar Rush. “Ralph Breaks the Internet” is available instantly on Digital 4K Ultra HD™/HD/SD and Movies Anywhere Feb. 12 and physically on Blu-ray and DVD Feb. 26.

"Their quest takes them to the vast, uncharted world of the internet where they rely on the citizens of the internet - the Netizens - to help navigate their way to eBay to find a replacement steering wheel."

Ralph Breaks the Internet” arrives home with a wide-range of exclusive extras, taking fans behind the scenes at Walt Disney Animation Studios to explore how artists created the film’s vibrant version of the internet — from comical cat videos to the intense online game Slaughter Race to shady characters on the Dark Net. Features also reveal some Easter eggs — inside jokes and references to other Disney films and characters hidden throughout the film — and filmmakers introduce some never before revealed deleted scenes.

Directed by Rich Moore (Academy Award Ò-winning “Zootopia,” “Wreck-It Ralph”) and Phil Johnston (co-writer “Wreck-It Ralph,” “Zootopia,” writer, “Cedar Rapids”), and produced by Clark Spencer (“Zootopia,” “Wreck-It Ralph,” “Bolt,” “Lilo & Stitch”), “Ralph Breaks the Internet” welcomes back favorite cast and characters introduced six years ago, including Reilly, who provides the voice of Ralph, and Silverman, who returns as the voice of Vanellope. Lending a virtual hand to Ralph and Vanellope is Shank, voiced by Gal Gadot, a tough-as-nails driver from a gritty online auto-racing game called Slaughter Race, a place Vanellope wholeheartedly embraces — so much so that Ralph worries he may lose the only friend he’s ever had. Yesss, voiced by Taraji P. Henson, the head algorithm and the heart and soul of the trend-making site BuzzzTube, makes Ralph a viral sensation. Jack McBrayer and Jane Lynch return as the voices of Fix-It Felix Jr. and Sergeant Calhoun, respectively, and Disney Animation’s good luck charm, actor Alan Tudyk was called on to voice a search engine named KnowsMore — literally a know-it-all — who runs a search bar and helps Ralph and Vanellope on their quest. Lots of exciting cameos are also featured in the film including a scene that reunites all of the original (living) Disney Princess voice cast.

Ralph Breaks the Internet” will be packaged and released several different ways, offering families the flexibility to watch the movie instantly and on a variety of different devices of their choosing. The film is available in Digital 4K Ultra HD, HD and SD and physically as a 4K Ultra HD Combo Pack (4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and Digital Copy), a Multi-Screen Edition (Blu-ray, DVD and Digital Copy) and a single DVD."

The kind folks at Walt Disney Studios recently sent an advance copy of this movie to watch, and my girls were so excited.  We saw this movie twice when it was in theaters, but they have been asking when it was coming on Blu-ray or DVD, so that we could get, and they could have to add to their movie collection.  So, when they saw me take it out of the package, they were all smiles, and knew what we would be watching for movie night this past Friday.

What sets this second installment apart from the first is that is all takes place through the Internet in the World Wide Web. Ralph and Vanellope von Schweetz head there after the arcade their games are housed installs WiFi.  They hope to find a replacement steering wheel for Sugar Rush, which was broken, and had the owner of the arcade looking to replace the game as he found the piece was rare and too expensive to repair.  But, Ralph didn't want to lose his best friend, so he would risk it all to save her game, and then meant traveling through the WiFi lines to the unknown Internet, to find the steering wheel and bring back to the arcade.

I couldn't help but see just how commercialized we are and how the Internet is, when Ralph and Vanellope von Schweetz arrived.  It looked like Times Square with all the different billboards and flashing signs.  My girls really liked this part and said the Internet looked like a metropolis, and would love to visit there.

Upon arriving, they find the steering wheel replacement piece at EBay and bid on it, and win it.  But, when it comes time to checkout they realize they were bidding with real money and have to come up with the money if they want to get the steering wheel.  This leads them to seek out ways to make money to pay for their winning bid.  It ends up being left up to Ralph to raise the money, as Vanellope von Schweetz falls in love with Slaughter Racing, an online game that is not anything like Sugar Rush.  It is gritty and dangerous looking, and this is what excites this thrill seeking.  She find herself having second thoughts on returning to the arcade with Ralph, as she really wants to stay in Slaughter Racing with the new race course and story line.  When Ralph finds this out, he is heartbroken.  He doesn't want to lose his best friend. But, Vanellope von Schweetz finds out he eavesdropped on her conversation with Shank where she was talking about wanting to stay in Slaughter Racing, and she felt betrayed and says she no longer wants to be friends with Ralph.  This kicks in his insecurities and because they are in the Internet, this results in a virus being created, which starts corrupting everything, and starts destroying everything, including the Slaughter Racing game, where Vanellope von Schweetz is.

How does the movie end?  Will everything be destroyed?  And, if not, does Vanellope von Schweetz decide to stay in this new game, or go back home with Ralph, as he raised enough money to pay for her replacement steering wheel?  You will have to pick up this movie, which arrives on Blu-Ray and DVD today, and watch with your family, to find out how the movie ends.  I have to say out of the two Wreck it Ralph movies, this one is my favorite.  There is so many going on, and I love how Ralph and Vanellope von Schweetz had their own stories and problems playing out during the movie.  And, if you tear up easily with movies, have your tissues ready, as you will find yourself reaching for tissues a few times throughout the movie.

Once you are done watching the movie, be sure to leave time to enjoy all the bonus features with your family.  We watched the movie Friday night, and then spent the afternoon on Saturday enjoying all the bonus features, which are all great!
