My girls love building with their construction toys and building bricks. I, on the other hand, am not a fan of stepping on these little pieces in the middle of the night barefoot...ouch! Yes, you know what I am talking about...it is like an initiation for parents...walking across a trail of building bricks as you try not to let out any obscenities. Boy, do these little pieces hurt when stepped on. But, you are quick to forget this when you see your children playing with them for hours..and actually playing together and getting along. Whenever my girls dump out their box of building bricks and toys I know that they will be keeping themselves busy for some time, and for the most part, they will enjoy each other's company as they use their imaginations and build things like castles, houses, animals and other cool structures.
I was excited when I received an email a few weeks back from the folks at Tryazon. My girls really had a blast trying these fun Strickly Briks sets. Being puzzle fans, they gravitated towards the pixel art set, as well as the challenging airplane takeoff puzzle. It took teamwork between the girls to put together the airplane takeoff puzzle, but when they finally made it, they were all smiles and couldn't wait to display their mosaic pattern for all to admire. :-)
We have tried Strickly Briks in the past, but this is the first time the girls were using the Rubik's bricks and pixel tiles. They found these a bit more challenging, but that made it that much more fun, and something that kept the girls attention, compared to simple brik building. While they had fun completing the patterns and pixel art included with each set, the real fun came when they used their imaginations to come up with their own unique designs and patterns.
It has been a week and half since we received our Strickly Briks Rubik's Briks samples, and the girls haven't got bored with them yet. On a daily basis, they wake and usually dump out the tiles, which they store in the bags provided with the sets, and then get to work creating a new unique piece of art for the day. And, then, they will display them in the mini easel stands I picked up at the craft store on their school table, to admire while we are doing school. And, at the end of the day they will either make something else, or clear the Strickly Briks base plates to get ready for another cool design the next day.
