Holiday Gift Guide 2017: Yellow Scope Offers Amazing Science Kit Made Just for Girls -- They'll Have Fun with Hands On Experiments While Learning About Key Scientific Concepts (Review)

Disclosure:  I was sent samples from the vendor in exchange for an honest review.  All views shared are mine and mine alone.

I was so excited a couple month ago when I stumbled upon Yellow Scope science kits for girls, as both of my girls love science and doing experiments.  In addition to doing science a few times a week with our homeschool curriculum I set up, I also bring my girls to a local education center where they do a Mad Science class with their friends.

Young scientists in training :-)

I love seeing so many girls gather around the table and rolling up their sleeves to dive right in and learn all about science and chemistry.

What is go great about the Yellow Scoop Science Kits for Girls, is that each kit contains everything you need to complete a variety of chemistry experiments, minus basic household items likes vinegar, baking soda, lemon juice, window cleaner and detergent, which we all have around the house. The kits also include lab notebooks which girls can read about the different experiments they will be doing and then record their findings.  These kits are created for girls 8-12 years old, but if you have a 6 or 7 year old, they can still enjoy the chemistry experiments.  They will just needs an adult around at all times.

I was sent two Yellow Scope science kits to try out with my girls, and we have been having so much fun with them.

The Acids, Bases & pH Kit won a Parents' Choice Gold Award and was a Finalist for 2016 Toy of the Year.
Acids, Bases & pH Chemistry Kit

The first kit we tried out was the Acids, Bases and pH chemistry kit, which has supplies to complete 19+ experiments.  Key scientific concepts discussed and applied are learning about acid and base chemistry, the pH scale and where things fall on this scientific scale, as well as neutralization.  My girls really enjoyed making their own pH paper to experiment with.

And when they were all done with the experiments in this box I awarded them with the pH collectible pin they could wear and show off.

What is so great about this and the other Yellow Scope science kit is that while we were completing the different experiments in a given week, the girls couldn't stop talking about what they were learning and sharing all about the experiments they did and what the results were.  You could tell how excited they were about chemistry by how they were talking it up to family and friends.  They were so passionate about what they were learning and couldn't wait to get back at the dining room table to do more experiments and learn more.

The Foundation Chemistry Kit has won a Parents' Choice Gold Award, a Dr. Toy Best Toys Award and was a Finalist for 2016 Toy of the Year.
Foundation Chemistry Kit

I ended up bringing in the foundation chemistry kit into their girls' Mad Science class to show their teacher, who is a women.  She has a science background and thought this was the coolest thing.  It is hard to find science kits geared towards girls and that will get them excited about chemistry and exploring a scientist's role.  These kits are made by scientists who are also moms, so they have a science background as well as know what kids are looking for and can handle in regards to understanding and exploring chemistry and key scientific concepts.

The Foundation Chemistry Kit has a Beakers and Bubbles theme, and includes supplies for girls to conduct a dozen of experiments.  Girls will learn the following key scientific concepts: 1) Molecules and Molecular Motion, 2) Chemical Reactions, and 3) Temperature in Chemistry.  Each of the science experiments and explanation of the scientific concepts align with next generation science standards.

In addition to all the supplies, which you see above, this kit also contains a lab notebook and collectible chemistry badge for your to wear and show off proudly after you complete all the experiments in this wonderful chemistry kit for girls.

As a parent who homeschools their children, I am always looking like kits like these that I can pick up and share with the girls, that contains everything in one kit.  Yes, I usually pull together add-on materials, but it is nice to have kits come with the basics and materials to explain concepts, experiments, etc.  With that being said, I really like the layout of the 29-page lab notebook that comes with this kit.  It is a sketch pad for your draw your experiments and work out details of your experiments so you can documents your final results, as well as reference guide that does an amazing job at explaining the key concepts for young scientists in training to understand and apply to their learning.  The lab notebeook is also a doodle book and contains all the instructions for each of the 12 experiments they will be conducting with the Foundation Chemistry Kit.

The girls really enjoyed the lab notebooks and loved showing it off to my husband when he got home each night.  They would talk about the different experiments we did and what they learned with each.  Then, they would pull out their lab notebooks, which all scientists have, and show off their work and results from each chemistry experiments.

Science can be messy too, but that is what makes it so fun! :-)

Thanks to these wonderfully put together kits, my girls are even more excited about science and chemistry and they both think being a scientist is a cool job and one that girls could do and be great at!  I love seeing my girls get excited about a topic especially science and really jump right in and want to learn about it.  I can't wait to pick up more chemistry kits from Yellow Scope to add to our homeschool learning.  They were so much fun to do, and jam packed with everything you need and a wonderful lab notebook which I have to say it the best teaching manual I have seen when it comes to teaching chemistry to young girls. Everything is simplified and explained in an easy to understand manner, and that doesn't scare girls away from learning about chemistry, but instead gives them the confidence they need to explore chemistry and become young scientists in training.

To learn more about these great chemistry kits made just for girls, head on over to Yellow Scope today, where you can learn more about the two scientists who are also moms and great friends and how these kits came about, as well as order one of the above mentioned science kits for that special girl in your life this holiday season.  These chemistry kits would make the perfect gift for that special girl in your life.  Yes, toys are fun, but gifting girls an educational kit like this will help them explore topics they may otherwise not be pushed in school to pursue, and have fun doing it.  My girls both give these kits two thumbs up, and I have to agree.  They really are great, and worth checking out!
