I will admit right from the start, I really wanted to review this kit, not just because I knew the girls would have fun making their own chocolate bars, but because I am a huge chocolate lover, and love an opportunity to indulge in chocolate, especially when it is made with the finest 100% Belgian chocolate like the Chocolate Picture Maker kit uses, to achieve the smoothest, tastiest chocolate bars that you and your kids can personalize.  No, I am not talking about just adding rainbow sprinkles or crushed nuts to the melted chocolate.  Instead the Chocolate Picture Maker kit from Zimpli Kids is all about the stencil you use (the kits come with an assortment of stencils, plus you can find more stencils options here, like this one...

Once you decide on the stencil you want to use, the fun part begins. All you need is a large bowl filled with warm water, that you will use to melt the three different chocolate packets included in the kit.  I was sent the kit that makes 4 bars, so I had enough individual packets of chocolate, along with 4 separate mold trays to create our four chocolate bars.

It takes about 3-5 minutes for the chocolate packets to melt in the warm water.  You can use this time to make any last minute changes to your stencil choice.  Then, when you are ready to go, place the stencil you chose under the plastic mold tray and retrieve your chocolate packets from the water.  You will want to cut a small hole in the top corner of the bag...make sure it isn't too big as this will control the flow of the chocolate as you trace your stencil.  If the hole is too big you are going to have a big mess and will not be able to control the flow of chocolate properly.  While you work on tracing the outline of the stencil and then fill it in, you want to make sure you push the air out of the chocolate bags, as this helps create a more smooth line to your design.

You are going to outline your stencil with the dark chocolate, and then fill it in with the white chocolate. The last step is covering the whole thing with oh so smooth and tasty milk chocolate.  Be sure to cover the entire mold area so that your chocolate bar sets perfectly and comes together while chilling in the refrigerator.  It takes about 20-30 minutes to set and harden before you can peel it out of the plastic mold to enjoy, or wrap and prepare to give as a gift (good luck in trying to save as a gift, as once you see this mouth-watering chocolate you will want to eat it). :-)  I am speaking from personal experience, as these chocolates smelled great while we were making our chocolate bars.  It was so hard having to wait the 30 minutes to let it harden.
