Number one New York Times bestselling author Max Lucado will delight you and your family with the silly new picture book I’m Not a Scaredy-Cat. Laugh-out-loud funny, yet filled with an important message that God is near so there’s no need to fear, kids will learn to put into perspective those things that frighten or worry them.

I have been a fan of Max Lucado for years, and have a nice collection going of children's book that I share with the girls, and that they are now reading on their own.  I'm excited to be adding "I'm Not a Scaredy Cat" to our growing collection, as this is not just a cute book that kids will love (including all the cat illustrations), but it also has a wonderful message that God is always near and that you don't have to be afraid or worry about things.

My oldest daughter, Savannah is quiet compared to her little sister Bella.  You can say she is shy, not I think is just taking in all of her surroundings.  She is the first to step up and offer help to others in need, and wears her heart on her sleeve.  She takes after me, and I couldn't be prouder.  But, there are times that she gets anxious, scared or worried, especially in new situations.  I was excited when I heard about this book, as I have been looking for a positive faith-based book to share with the girls to remind Savannah that everything is OK, and that God is always with her.

We have had this book for a couple weeks now and I love sharing it with the girls.  I have found Savannah pulling it from the shelf and reading on her own. And, when I share at bedtime, I am sure to follow up with the girls about the message in this book, and how they can apply this to their lives and when they are feeling scared or worried in any situation. This book has helped Savannah, and is a nice way to remind the girls that God is always with them.

If you are looking for a cute book to share with your child, which also has a positive message about God, then this is the book for you.

More about this book:

"I’m a big cat. I’m a strong cat. I’m not a scaredy-cat . . . except when . . .
From New York Times bestselling author Max Lucado comes I’m Not a Scaredy-Cat, a hilarious new picture book to help kids manage their fears and worries and learn to trust God.
Follow a silly series of misadventures as scaredy-cat faces his worst fears: an appalling abundance of (gulp!) yellow and pink sprinkles on his donut, an elephant on the verge of a ginormous sneeze, and the terrifyingly loud chime of a clock. For each of the fears, Max provides this reassuring child’s version of Philippians 4:6–9:
“God, you are good.
God, you are near.
God, you are here!
And, God, you love me.”
A fun read for children and parents, I’m Not a Scaredy-Cat will open doors for important conversations about fear in a nonthreatening way and help you instill godly bravery in your kids."
