What is one of your food weaknesses?  For me it is chocolate.  I can't go a day without having a piece of chocolate or a cup of hot chocolate.  My family and friends know that when the Christmas or my birthday rolls around, they can't go wrong with chocolate as a gift.  I am easy to please when it comes to gifts, as I usually ask for the same stuff each year...a comfy pair of pajamas, hot chocolate and chocolate bars. :-)

I will say I am picky with the chocolate bars.  If you are a chocolate lover, then you have your own standards for chocolate.  Yes, the popular chocolate bar or peanut butter cups at the store are good when you need a quick chocolate fix.  But, if you want to truly enjoy a rich melt in your mouth chocolate, then you have to pick up a good brand of chocolate.  Well, I am here to share a new brand I was recently introduced to and have fallen in love with...Loving Earth.  Have you heard of Loving Earth, or had the pleasure of enjoying one of their many chocolate bars?

Recently, I was sent their Creamy and Raspberry bars to sample...

"Deep in the Amazon, the Asháninka community grow their cacao. They are the traditional custodians of the forest, under constant pressure from outsiders wanting to clear fell. By harvesting their ceremonial grade cacao they preserve both their beautiful culture and the rainforest itself. By buying this chocolate we help the Asháninka grow more cacao. We’re all in this together. When we get the raw beans in our hands we work our own magic with creamy coconut and coconut sugar. So here it is... Unroasted, velvety and rich."

I wish you could have saw me rush these bars into my secret chocolate stash cabinet, high up, where the kids can't reach and my husband wouldn't think to look. If you saw me you would have thought I was smuggling gold or something expensive into the house.  And, all that day, I couldn't wait for everyone to go to bed, so that I could sneak downstairs for a little "me time" to sample these two flavors.

I am not usually a fan of coconut milk but like creamy chocolate.  This type of chocolate seems to linger on your tongue as it slides down.  You can lick your lips and usually find residual creamy chocolate when enjoying a creamy chocolate bar like this.  I have to say, this chocolate bar from Loving Earth didn't disappoint.  Made with coconut milk chocolate and raw ashaninka cacao, it was full of flavor and oh so creamy.  I paired this velvety chocolate with a cold glass of milk, and it hit the spot. :-)  See, simple pleasures are the best, especially after crazy days with the kids and work.

I ended up saving the raspberry bar for another day as I didn't want to surprise my palette with another delectable flavor so late in the evening.  And, I really was enjoying the aftertaste of the creamy Loving Earth bar.  So, the next next, when everyone was sleeping, I snuck back downstairs and took a bite of the raspberry bar, which is made with cashew mylk chocolate with raw ashaninka cocoa.  Oh my, this chocolate is to die for. It was so full of flavor, and just the right sweetness of the raspberries.  The creamy cashews paired with the slightly tangy tangy raspberries made my mouth water, and craving more.  If I didn't stop myself, I could have eaten the whole bar in one sitting.  But, I knew it was late and wanted to save some for another day.

Loving Earth

I wish I could tell you that these two chocolate bars lasted awhile in my house, but they didn't.  Within 2 days, I had devoured both bars, and it left me wanting more.  My husband caught me on the last night and I had to share a piece of the creamy bar with him.  He was so mad I didn't share earlier as he, too, likes chocolate.  But, I said if he wants more, he will have to get me some for my birthday.  :-)  I am so hoping in 2 weeks to wake to a new stash of Loving Earth chocolate. If not, I know where to go to get my fix.  And, I am already adding Loving Earth chocolate to my wish list for Santa.  A stocking filled with these smooth and delicious chocolate bars would make for a great end to the year. :-)

If you are a chocolate lover or know someone who is, why not consider picking up a few Loving Earth chocolate bars to add to stockings, attach to gifts under the tree, or simply have on the dessert table this holiday season.  Oh, and be sure to keep a few and hide like I did, as once you try this chocolate, you will wish you had a stash just for yourself to enjoy. :-)
