Simon & Schuster

Have you seen the movie trailer for the upcoming Sony Pictures Animation’s film The Star? This movie features the amazing vocal talents of Anthony Anderson, Steven Yeun, Aidy Bryant, and many more

If you haven't seen it, here the trailer and a little more about the movie, including the official movie website:

About this movie:

"In Sony Pictures Animation's The Star, a small but brave donkey named Bo yearns for a life beyond his daily grind at the village mill. One day he finds the courage to break free, and finally goes on the adventure of his dreams. On his journey, he teams up with Ruth, a loveable sheep who has lost her flock and Dave, a dove with lofty aspirations. Along with three wisecracking camels and some eccentric stable animals, Bo and his new friends follow the Star and become unlikely heroes in the greatest story ever told – the first Christmas."

Doesn't this look like a cute movie to get you into the holiday spirit?  My girls and I can't wait to see it when it arrives in theaters on November 17th.  But, in the meantime, we are enjoying reading newly released "The Star" books from Simon & Schuster, that are definitely going to be front and center this holiday season, as we gather and celebrate the season with family and friends.

You can't help but fall in love with the different characters including Bo, the donkey, when you sit down and share these books based on the upcoming "The Star" movie release.  My girls both said Bo was their favorite, as they loved how he was a donkey with big dreams.  He truly believes greatness awaits him outside the mill walls, and he is destined to find out what is in store for him. :-)

We received these books last week and have been enjoying them at bedtime and during the day.  It is always a treat when I can snuggle up with the girls and read to them.  And, we are having so much fun reading the deluxe junior novelization together.  I have been reading a couple chapters a day to them, and then we sit and discuss what we have read.  And, once the movie arrives in theaters and we see it, I can't wait to ask the girls how the book differed, if at all, with this junior novel we were reading.

My girls were happy to find punch out ornaments in the "They Followed the Star" book, and can't wait until the tree is up to add the two ornaments (one is Bo) to the tree.  Both of the young children's books are easy to read and are beautifully illustrated.  Just reading these two books makes us want to see this movie ever more.  Nov. 17th can't get here fast enough! :-)

Based on all the wonderful reviews I have read online about this upcoming family-friendly movie, I know that families will be looking for books from the movie to share with their kids as the holiday gets closer.  So, why not save yourself the trouble in trying to find these books by ordering them now.  They will be great additions to the coffee table or as part of your book advent as your count down until Christmas.  I will be adding the "Bo and Friends" and "They Followed the Star" to our 25 Days until Christmas Book Advent.

To learn more about these new releases, and other great books that would be perfect for stocking stuffers or to add under the tree or to your family's book advent, head on over to Simon & Schuster today.  Here are just some of the books I can't wait to share with my girls this holiday season...
