New from NCircle! Entertainment - Floogals: Destination Planet Earth! (Review)

Disclosure: I was sent a review copy from the vendor in order to write up an honest review. All views shared are mine and mine alone.

My girls were first introduced the Floogals when they visited their grandparents, who have Sprout!.  I remember them coming home and talking all about Fleeker, Flo and Boomer and wondering what they had watched.  Unfortunately, we don't have Sprout network so they couldn't watch this popular original series on our television.  So, instead my parent recorded the episodes and whenever the girls went to visit, they would have a Floogals marathon. :-)

I had checked last year when the girls got excited about this show if they had DVDs out, and at the time they didn't.  So, I made a point to keep checking so that I could pick a DVD of the series up for the girls to enjoy at home and in the car.  Then, I received an email from the folks at NCircle Entertainment last month about the upcoming release of Floogals:Destination Planet Earth.  The girls' eyes lit up and they had a huge smile on their faces when I shared the news.  I said that we would be getting a copy to review, and they couldn't wait.  For a week they checked the mailbox for the DVD to review.  Then, it finally arrived, and they have been enjoying it ever since.

If you are not familiar with the series, here is a little background:

"Join the Floogals on a mission of discovery as they explore Earth and the funny "hoomans" who live there! Captain Fleeker, First Officer Flo, and Junior Boomer are pocket sized alien adventurers on a mission to observe and experience a new and exciting world - Planet Earth! Arriving in their spaceship from the distant planet of Floog, the Floogals are on a mission to document everything around them in the peculiar world of the "hoomans".

Each day, Fleeker, Flo, and Boomer encounter something that sparks their curiosity, setting in motion the day's research "project" and triggering an exciting adventure! First, Boomer becomes very fond of the three stripy caterpillars the kids are keeping in the shed. Then, one day one of the caterpillars disappears and then another and another. It's up to the Floogals to learn the mystery of the disappearing caterpillars! Then, when the Floogals encounter a balloon that's intended for the Girl Hooman's birthday party they think it's a monster - it's ten times bigger than them with a giant face! Can Fleeker conquer his fear to return the balloon to the little girl in time for her birthday? Find out! Adventure is everywhere they go. They're the Floogals! 3, 2, 1, let's go!"

This new NCircle Entertainment DVD contains the following eight full-length episodes from this popular preschool series:

1)  Project Caterpillar - Boomer's become very fond of the 3 stripy caterpillars the kids are keeping in the shed.
2)  Project Balloon - The Floogals mistake a balloon for a monster
3)  Project Baby
4)  Project Bubbles - The Floogals discover the joy of blowing bubbles.
5)  Project Hamster - A hamster habitat is mistaken for a spaceship
6)  Project Robot - Flo makes friends with a robot
7)  Project Garden Hose - The Floogals learn about hoses.
8)  Project Magnet

Even though this series is geared towards children ages 2-6 years old, my girls really got into it. They are 5 and 6.5 and loved learning alongside the Floogals, as they encounter the "hoomuns".  Everywhere the Floogals look they are learning something new.  As a parent of little ones I love this about the show as it exposes young children to new things and gets them excited about exploring new things and learning how to observe everything going on around them.

It was hard for my girls to choose a favorite episode, as they loved them all, and have watched them a handful of times so far.  Be warned the theme song is catchy and will have you singing along. :-)  If you have preschoolers and are looking for a fun educational show to sit and watch with them, then you will want to pick up a copy of Floogals:  Destination Planet Earth, now available from NCircle Entertainment.
