Hop Into Easter with These Cute Personalized Books From Put Me In The Story (Review)

I don't know about you, but I find the holidays come so quickly after Christmas.  It seems like every time you blink another holiday or birthday is upon us. Santa drops off all these gifts for the girls -- really too many for them to actually play with -- and, then they are looking for more "new" toys for Valentine's Day, Easter, etc.  What is a parent to do?

Because my girls have so many toys, for these smaller holidays like Valentine's Day, Easter and sometimes their birthday, I try to give them non-toy gifts.  And, if I can steer clear of sweets even better.  I hate having to deal with my girls coming off a sugar high...never fun, especially when you are low on energy and theirs is through the roof. :-)

So, what non-toy gift would be perfect for Easter, you ask?  How about a personalized book that they can enjoy for years to come?  I have been creating and giving personalized books from Put Me in the Story ever since I stumbled upon their website back when Savannah was a baby.  Some of her first books were persnalized stories which included photos of her and pages filled with her name.  She loved seeing herself in the story.  And, when she got older and recognized her name, she through it was neat that she was in a book.  These books felt special to her and made just for her. And, whenever bedtime rolls around, I find her reaching for a book we created for her from Put Me in the Story to end our day.

If you are not familiar with Put Me in the Story or haven't been to their website lately, I wanted to share a few new books that would make great Easter basket fillers this year.

The kind folks at Put Me in the Story  let me create Don’t Push the Button by Bill Cotter for my girls.  They had seen this book in the bookstore recently and asked on our next trip if they could buy it.  When I saw that Put Me in the Story was offering this book, I thought it would be fun to personalize it with photos and their names.  Because Savannah has so many books (seeing that she is a year older than Bella), I ended up personalizing the book for Bella.

When Bella saw this book in the mail, she got so excited.  She had no idea it was created just for her.  I told her that she had to wait until bed time for us to read it and that it was a special book.  All day long she kept asking me why this book was so special.  And, I would have to tell her she had to wait and see. :-)  That night the girls and I cuddled up on the couch under a warm blanket and read Don’t Push the Button by Bill Cotter.  If you haven't seen this book and are looking for a fun interactive book for kids, you will definitely want to check this one out.  My girls couldn't stop giggling and smile.  And, once we were finished they asked me to read it again.

You read the brief synopsis of this book above, so I will not be repetitive.  I asked my girls why they loved this book so much and they both agreed the Larry the monster was really cute.  They also loved pushing the button and hearing me read the story where Larry tells us not to push the button...and, then says, oh all right do it.  Once the girls push the button on the page, the real fun begins.  I don't want to give too much away.  But, I will say some silly things happen to Larry.  And, he will need your child's help to make him normal again.

This is one book my girls will not grow bored with.  We have only had it a few days now and they continually ask for me to read it during the day and at bedtime.  Even though they know what happens in the story, they still smile and giggle as if it is the first time they are hearing it.

I highly recommend this book, and know you and your children will enjoy it.  Why not make it extra special by personalizing it over at Put Me in the Story?  This is the perfect gift for Easter, a birthday or just because.
