One of my all-time reality shows that I can thank my husband for turning me onto is MythBusters. Are you a fan of this science-based show that features two brothers, Adam and Jamie, along with their assistants, testing out myths, to prove them right or wrong? From blowing up or crashing things, you couldn't help but find your heart pumping as you watched the MythBusters come up with cool and crazy ways to test out theories, while capturing them on film.
Every time I would sit and watch this show with my husband, I wished I had a job like Adam and Jamie, or at least could join their lab and help them with these amazingly fun experiments. But, at least I could tune in each week to watch them testing myths, sometimes having to repeat experiments due to mishap, to test the validity of myths, tall tales and urban legends. My favorite tests were to disprove tall tales and urban legends, as they always seemed to carry crazy, edge of your seat experiments, that I still love talking about with my husband today.
When I told my husband that they were coming out with a 10th anniversary DVD of MythBusters, the first thing my husband said was, "Boy, am I old." He remembers watching the pilot episode and being hooked after the first show. Ten years really does go by fast, and with a hit show like this, there is no wonder why it has lasted this long. This is one of those shows that you can be a fan of and watch the same episode over and over again, without getting bored, or be a new viewer and tune in for the first time and be hooked and want to watch more. Well, now new and old fans of MythBusters can get their fix of crazy cool experiments and myth debunking with this all new DVD collection, which features 50 episodes, handpicked by the MythBusters cast themselves -- so, you know that they are great!
With Valentine's Day fast approaching, this would make the perfect gift to surprise that special MythBusters fan in your life. Or, if you are the fan, why not ask for this instead of a box of chocolate or dinner out? You'll have a blast reliving 50 of the best episodes of MythBusters, that still have fans of the shows talking about.
